Vigilante character design
By Frog
Hello!
I have this character whom I plan to use in a comic someday.
He is a vigilante trying to take down a corrupt, dystopian government. He utilizes kicks, punches, and a Bo staff when fighting. Taekwondo is the main inspiration.
With this design, I am struggling with showing personality/fighting style, colors, and the shape language. I use red and white to show that he’s actually a pretty angry dude, however he tries his best to keep it contained. The black belt is because…well, he’s a martial artist.
However, I am not sure how to show his kicking-dominated style effectively. Not only that, but I feel that the silhouette is bland; there’s little variation in the sizing, but I don’t know what to bulk up or slim down. Finally, I am disappointed with the black-on-black (undergarments & belt), but the belt being black seems important to me, and I don’t know what to do for the undergarments.
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. :-)

Question about portfolio and critique request
By Alex S
main question is: should I create a portfolio even if my art is not professional quality yet?
Also would a good choice be artstation?
So you can have some context on my skill level, I have included a design for a world I am developing for fun and to improve my skills for the goal of becoming a concept artist or illustrator.
Bear in mind that I am new to digital art and this was drawn on my phone as I am mainly traditional but the career I want is digital. I have been trying to learn fundamentals but become discouraged when I am only practicing and not implementing them.
Also, please can you keep the critiques objective but truthful as I am sensitive...
Thank you to anyone who can help me

Readable Character Design
I am learning to work with shape language to design readable Character Designs. At the second Image you can read what I intended the shape language to be for. Whether I succeeded or not I another thing. So I would like to hear your options, on the Ideas that I had for the character design, but also what I should have done to improve the concept that I did in the end. Because I think that I should have exaggerate some elements of the character even more to highlight that characteristic. Thank you for your Advice's.

My first concept art portfolio. I need criticism or opinions, so I can get job on the concept art AAA games industry
By Baruna Khs
This project is still very much trial and error. This concept art is inspired by Ubisoft's game "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora".
I recommend checking the full progress, to avoid misconceptions:

Based on your experiences, what do you think needs improvement to be accepted into the concept art industry, especially for AAA games?

AI for reference generation?
By John Aycock
I’ve been using AI to generate references. Not all of them, but some of them. Especially for concept art and world building. Does anyone else here do that? If not, honestly, I suggest it. It’s so versatile. You can change the colors and lighting as you want. But the image is never EXACTLY what you imagined so you’ll still have the added challenge of making your personal changes. Thoughts?

anime characters
hey everybody, I've set on a journey to create my own manga, and I need advice from everybody from every platform, so I'm 1/3 away from drawing every character in the manga, I don't have a name for my manga, and I need to have a good plot
characters(so far);
Akira Kibo
Marvin Ichikawa
Emma Himari
so the characters are in the year 2031, and almost all the populous all have powers, the 10% have a form of "chakra" from Naruto, but it's different.
so does anybody have concept designs for the characters setting? if so, send it to me at s27mlegassie@students.gwusd.org or on proko.com,
I also need a character that's half Arabian Japanese that has a power called "genie" genie grants 5-8 wishes a day, the user can wish for whatever they want (if awakened, user can have infinite wishes) , if they past their limit, they can be paralyzed,
the character needs to have no hijab, representing freedom.
let me know if anyone has something in ming

Looking for opinions/critique: character designs, style, quality
Hello everyone! I love to design characters, and I think I'm some kind of intermediate artist now. Fundamentals are still lacking, especially regarding human anatomy - but what I'd like to know is:
What exactly looks wonky about my artworks? Are they interesting or rather boring, and why? How high/low is their quality? Is my art style generic and how would you describe it? What does it feel like?
I know what I struggle to draw & to envision, I know many of my limitations very well, but these questions are just impossible for me to answer (well meaning friends & family can't either). If anyone would be willing to help me here, I'd be so happy. Thank you in advance!
