Playing around with markers

Am currently going through the Fundamentals of Character Design course by David Colman and working through the second assignment. We're to do traditional figure studies and then approach the same subjects with an eye to design. So, I guess I'm gonna take what I've got here and try to design from it. If anyone has any suggestions on how to approach the design half of the assignment I'd love to read em. Apropos of nothing - I've never drawn with markers before and I'm having a blast doing it!
Yeah, markers are fun, it's like paining but with the control of drawing.
I took the idea of the colors that you are using and thought a core shadow running down the center of the body with rim light could be a cool design. I did a quick sketch I hope gives you some ideas :)
