Concept Exercises and Portfolio Building: Concept Redesigns

When you're having a hard time trying to think of an idea for a concept a great solution can be to redesign characters from existing IPs. Not only is this a great way to expand your repertoire, but if done well, these concepts can be used in your portfolio. In this piece I explored redesigns for the main character and some of his alter-egos from the Sega Genesis title, Kid Chameleon. This was a staple during my childhood, and I had a lot of fun designing these concepts.
I love what you do with colors. The action of the characters feels so right, as well. Were these done digitally or traditionally? I'll try to incorporate this into my practice.
