Alright, let's check out your "Portraits in Perspective" project submissions. I'll go through both level 1 and 2 and offer some tips on fixing the usual mistakes.

Here's the last set of practices before moving on to 3pp. I definitely feel like my skills are drawing head boxes have improved, but there's still much room for improvement. But I'm definitely done with drawing heads for the moment.

Heyo :) Tried my hand at these exercises and found them quite challenging. Especially number 9. After watching the demos I then realized that I struggle with foreshortening and I think I tend to make the faces too wide. Also I realized now that I seem to forget to align the smaller shapes like the lips, jaw and ears with the direction of the corresponding plane. Any critiques would be welcome! Have a good day :)

One last Marshall head and I’m ready to go!

From a top view, the rear of the human head is wider than the front of it so I believe a "keystone" box top was intended to show it - hence the diverging lines.

Some proportion issues among other things. Not feeling confident about my progress if I’m being honest.

I saw it in the critique a few times. Is the center line of the box the center line of the face? I saw a few references where you could clearly see that one side of the front plane appears to be bigger than the other side.

Lv 1 Again. I tried drawing the Y Axis first to make it easier. Although I'm just noticing that some of my axis is off, but I'm going to commit to it anyway.

While watching the Level 2 demo and Critique videos, I tried the Level 2 project. When I see these pictures, I notice that they look less three-dimensional than how they look on paper.

I must admit that I find this rather hard. Thinking of the head as a box and after seeing the critiques happy to construct a bit more within said box. I wanted to post at least 3 more heads after my initial 6 before moving on to the next lesson... I used about 10 to 15 minutes on each, with a bit extra on the one that is alone. I used blue for my initial sketch box and then red for the lines, but sometimes I forgot to do them in different layers in procreate so I erased some of the original lines...and switch to blue at some stage... oh well the wonders of digital in procreate... A good exercise. I will try and do it more often. Portrait 5 is a bit too wide. I think I needed to make the box narrower. The tilted head was hard. I barely found the box and started too early on the boxy contours, going backwards and forewards... Will watch the video again soon.

I never got around to do a retry of the other portraits in my proper new ipad with the proper apple pencil... but I am motivated by these critiques.

A super-helpful critique video again, thank you Stan :). One of the things I most love about this course is (in addition to your teaching style being fun and very encouraging, throughout last year I've enjoyed drawing, so much, even on bad drawing days when frustration kicks in) the structure. I'm given a challenge and basic tools for it in lessons and assignment, then in demos additional tools to help solving the problems I face, and then this kind of ta-daa!-enlightement and know-how in critique videos, to give me what I need to really start effective practicing. Of course the community is also awesome, I've learned a ton looking at what others are doing and working on.
Perspective has proven to be more challenging for me than I ever anticipated. Probably because it's... kind of painful! But it's what I want to learn very well, and know I need to. Anyway, I got many good tips from this critique that inspired me to give this assignment another go, and feeling so inspired this feedback just had to come out, so... thanks! :D

Thank you very much for the critique Stan.
I've gone and started drawing the entire set again being more mindful of the relations I set on paper. So far I struggle to really get the forehead of the models right, it's the part of the head where I can't come up with a "way to draw it" that's accurate. Apart from that I feel like I still can't render any details properly.
If there's anything anyone sees that I should be doing/I'm doing wrong please tell me. I'll be uploading the 10 remaining portraits along the week after I've taken some notes from the lvl2 demo and the critique video.
