After watching the demo, critique and doing a few more of level 2 exercises, I decided to do two attempts using these references.
been practicing for 2 weeks….I hope the results are showing from everyday practice….😅
Will continue to do these as I move through the course. Looking forward to the next topic now 😃

Did a few more practice after watching the demo, and critique. This is fun and it takes a bit of brain power to concentrate to get the proportions at least close to looking good.

This was so fun to do lol. Might have messed up on the lines connecting to the vanishing point because I was doing a lot of ghosting.
Cant wait for the movie in April! 😃

This was a lot of fun and hoping I got the idea of it!!! Please tell me if I might have gotten it wrong. Any suggestions are welcome.
I never understood the vanishing point up till now!!! Pretty cool!

Here are my first few attempts of level 2. These are after watching the demo and before watching the critique.
these are hard but fun exercise to do. 😅
I was also listening to the draft men podcast drawing these and I learned in one of the episodes that it is OK to fail.

Hi Stan,
The course is brilliant and it helps. I often feel I am simply not pouring enough time into it!
I am honestly struggling to feel like I am making progress with it all, the dynamic shapes part was difficult and now this hah. Lets keep going.
Things are tough when you're a slow learning and have to rewatch things constantly. Just writing this for those out there that might seem discouraged. Just keep going! Even if you feel you're not really getting it or making progress! Keep going. <3 (Neuro spicy ftw)
I agree with you, just keep going! :D I had to watch the demos a few times and even draw along to under stan decisions and his arm movements. It really helps and it allows me to study before doing it on my own. I don't see any shame doing this because this is part of the process of practicing. This was a very nice and thoughtful message. :)

The exercise is challenging, but I enjoyed it.
The simplification of the contours was a bit difficult for me, at the beginning I had even a more detailed contour that had to simplify afterward.
I think I went too dark on the shading, what made it difficult to achieve the same dark tone for the cast shadow, I had to use the B8 pencil.
For the next ones, I will define the tone ranges before the drawing, choosing them a bit closer to each other and not too dark.

First image on the left is before watching the demo. I like to try it before watching the demo and see the improvement after watching the demo. Next two images are after watching the demo.
these are really helpful in looking at the head as a 3D box. Great exercise and will continue to do these :)
