Alright guys, now that you’ve had some time to work on your level 1 “Learning to Sketch from observation” project. Ill show you how I would approach the sketches.

I am a true level one with a desire to feel like an artist someday. I am posting my 1st attempt on my own and then second attempt with demo.

This is a great place to learn! Thanks for sharing!

I tried all 3 of the examples again after watching the demo, it helped me a lot to understand the process and better understand the subject. I've also tried to improve my line and sketch quality using some of the other lessons. I've done 3 more of my own sketches, including a picture of my gecko. I feel I've already improved a lot with my lines and mindset, and welcome any criticism to continue improving.

Wow. Very high level drawings for this assignment. The way you ghost in your lines and only use dark marks where it is necessary is perfect.

2nd attempt post demo. I tried not to obsess about details. I found IT quite difficult to stay intentional with my lines.

All done before the demo. After watching the demo, I may try again and try to get more of the “flow” lines down before first.

I wanted to post again here in the demo because I noticed how once I saw how Proko showed the flow of the arm and hand everything sort of guides you with placements.

After taking notes from the demo I went back and tried to be a lot looser and more gestural in my sketches. these took significantly less time. Sketching in red seemed to help me stay in sketch mode.

I purposely left out details for ironman, wanted the rhythm reference.

I drew this while watching the demo using more gestural lines and looking at the structure and it went so much more quickly and I think I have a much better understanding now than what I did before. (more fun too)

I've done these as extra assignments after seeing Proko's demo. It was so fun to draw from art that I like. I've let myself loose and did not put pressure on the result. I feel like I definitely need these types of drawing sessions to enjoy the process

Honestly I'm struggling with ''imaginating the whole thing'' as Proko says in 37:24. I just can't tell the diference between that and just doing the outlines. And maybe I'm doing it correctly but I don't even notice -_-.

I really like the Celeste image. It’s very dynamic. The characters have a lot much movement and your sketch of it is nice. it’s motivated me to try drawing it myself!

I think youre on the right track. ‘Design don’t copy’ is a mantra i like to keep in my head when drawing from reference.

Since I already attempted the penguin, hand, and VR girl I wanted to try something new; as per Stan's advice. So, I cracked open my Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order art book and found this bird that I wanted to give a shot. I am still trying to find searching lines, but here is my attempt. I would love feedback if anyone has some!
