I am a true level one with a desire to feel like an artist someday. I am posting my 1st attempt on my own and then second attempt with demo.

I am a super noob at drawing. I was happy to see an improvement in my looser lines by the 3rd snail.
The boots overwhelmed me, I want to practice basic lines and try the boots again.
I can see that you are improving. I can see the overwhelming energy on the first attempts, especially on the boots. However, you are getting the idea on the second attempt. What helped me on the boots when I felt that the laces overwhelmed was watching stan attempt and critique.
for the boots I:
1. Mapped it out using big shapes using lines and angles. I focus on that as long as it takes me.
2. I then use the CSI lines to draw out the boots. I ghost it first maybe 3 to 5 times so my hand can know what to do. If there is an area where I am like damn even ghosting it feels like it might not come out right, I lightly draw the line to "test" if it looks good. If i put so much pressure on it and it looks bad, the line can be hard to erased.
I hope this helps, but overall I see improvement. Take your time, there is no rush, no race, just enjjooyyyy the process :)

Attempt 1, attempt 2 with demo,
image.
I like the first one, but following the demo helped me figure out how to break down the subtle value shifts.
