This exercise is great. You really get into a flow - even if not everything is right, you still get a feeling for the lines.

These are perfect! Well done. Your lines are so loose and beautiful.
@brimarie
New version after demo Although I was satisfied with my first attempt, I have the feeling that I am getting too lost in the details. So my goal in this exercise was to make the lines as simple as possible. It's amazing what simplifying can do :-)
@uljana
My attempt at the assignent level 1 :) I tried to really let my hand flow and draw from the shoulder to achieve smoother lines. Again, proportionally some things are off, but working on it :))) Any feedback is appreciated!! ♥
@brimarie
These look amazing!

Hello everyone This exercise was a lot of fun... I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not just making lines with my hand, but with my arm. Well, I'm now planning to draw mushroom ellipses every day:-)

These are amazing sketchbook pages!

Hello Stan explains the approach in the demo video very clearly and logically. It helped me immensely to follow a red guideline when painting. In any case, I have the feeling that the paintings have become much better after the demo film. Feedback is always welcome... Next time I definitely want to paint the reference picture when it's upside down - I'm already curious to see what the result will look like. I wish you all lots of fun being creative:-)

This took longer than I expected. It would have been much easier and less messy to achieve uniform tones on IPad but I enjoyed the process of experimenting and understanding the paper and pencil. It was hard to simplify some areas and decide which shape with which tones to render.
@brimarie
The build up of the different shades looks great and so does the end result, wow!

I watched the video several times. And here is my result. There are several points that I do not understand. First. As an engineer, I do not understand how to correctly take measurements from an object, it seems to me that the width of the pear does not match very much. The second point, I do not quite correctly how to shade the pear, but we will go through this at the end of the course and the third point. My big minus is that I cannot draw a normal difference between shadows. they do not correspond to the previously drawn values, which are at the top of the drawing
@brimarie
Very nicely painted, wow!

My first time as a beginner. I'm least happy with how the shadow on the ground looks and also how my pear is more slim than on a photo reference.
@brimarie
Your pear looks great. Very clear and structured!

Thumbnails are always a great idea. This turned out great. You really nailed this project, great job!

Level 2 portrait. I separated proportion, plane / perspective and value study. For the main portrait I focused on separating the values instead of simplifying it to the max.
@brimarie
Wow, great approach and wonderful photos!
