Here’s a shorter and improved version of your text: “Hey everyone, I’ve been practicing figure drawing daily after taking a course. I’m not a fast learner, but I love the process and was proud of my progress with the first few examples. I took a break to focus on portraits for a while, but now that I’m back to figure drawing, I feel like I’ve gotten worse. It’s frustrating and makes me angry, which only leads to more bad drawings. Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!” first 5: proud of that i make a month ago last 2: is from now

You are doing great! My feedback would be to have more confidence with setting your lines.
Rachel Dawn Owens
These look like nice simplifications of the human form to me! Nice gesture!

This is a bunch of 2 minute quick sketch that I did over multiple days. These are really fun to do so I will keep up the daily routine of them. Some poses can be really hard and I mess up proportion a lot but I hope to improve with time : )
@rudysterner
Here are some attempts at gesture. I know I've got a long way to go. I keep making the head too small.
Jason Lankford
Here is my attempt to follow along with the quicksketch 2 minute gesture demo. I have trouble with proportion. And, I draw too many lines.
Charles Ray
Ignore the silly toenails.. I tend to do this with most drawings just having fun.
Rachel Dawn Owens
Keep having fun!

Can someone help me with these? I tried copying the references from the video and I'm not sure if this is good. Please help!🙏
Rachel Dawn Owens
This is a nice start. Thanks for sharing. Your drawings are just a little scratchy. Try drawing with the longest lines possible. Even if they are less accurate to the reference. The long, confident line drawn with your arm (not just the wrist) will make the drawings read better. Your proportions and forms look nice. Just keep practicing to get that confidence.

Having a lot of trouble establishing flow & rhythm. I think I understand conceptually how to do gesture but physically I feel like I’m missing something (or maybe a few things?) I’ve watched the videos a bunch of times (and will continue to) but can anyone give me pointers? Much appreciated.

My camera is bad and my lines are super messy lol. I tried the lighting with photoshop but oh well.

This Is my first day drawing 2-minute and 30-second gesture sketches. Most of these are 2-min., but there are a couple made in 30 seconds. Any feedback is welcome! I really want to improve my drawings.
Darion Matehuala
Oh yeah, and I also took a ton of notes in case I forget lol.

more practices, getting better as I watch the demos

Right, so I didn't watch the video prior and truly drew along Stan, and I could barely keep up with the pace; during most of these I didn't even have time to look at his decisions. I did feel lost on some poses, but oh well, we take these. Not all are going to be wins.

Some two minutes sketches, quality varies but I feel like I’m slowly getting it. Thanks for looking

oh boy, I feel like my gestures suddenly got worse, that's worrisome. Suddenly too self-conscious about them maybe, I hope that this negativity doesn't stick. Somehow 2 minutes suddenly isn't enough and I can barely get anything done, this was never a problem before, just can't let it get to me.

These actually pretty good🙂

After weeks of struggling I think I'm finally getting it, although it still takes me 4-5 minutes for each pose. Bridgman and Michael Hampton's books were a big help! Also, finally understood the overhand grip and how much of a difference it can make! Thanks a lot Stan! Your courses are amazing!

You can't do anything like he does because he is using, obviously, skills that are described in following lessons like "the bean." I found that looking at some of the subsequent skills then going back to the quick sketches actually improved my gestures by a quantum leap.

Looking good, Divya!!
