Nice! Also love your username ✨

Dynamic shapes - some from the provided project photos, some from imagination. Several cartoonish exaggerations just for funsies :)

The crossing guard seal is really funny. Nice work with these!

Time spent on most of it: ~1 hr. Time spent on the eyes: a lot more than I'd like to admit Proportions continue to be a weakness of mine. Must measure more, must draw more. Done on A5 sketchbook paper with B9 pencil

You've done a great job here! The facial features are stretched out a bit vertically but the overall proportions look pretty good. The only area that was off by a larger margin was the shoulder, which is an easy fix. Keep up the momentum :)

Some very, very quick sketches on this project. I tried to exaggerate the type of shapes used for each animal, in order to convey a bit of vibe or personality.

Some more quick animal sketches - a yawning cat, a curious ostrich, and a small, chonky bird.

Submission for Line Master Studies. Studies of two pieces by Samwise Didier, foundational artist for the style Blizzard Entertainment is known for. I *think* I found some of his sketching preferences and translated some of it in my studies. It was my first time inking something, however, and I had too much fun not to put my twist on things... :)

Day 7/8: a little attempt at a tablecloth, and a stone well with some pumpkins on it that is near a local farm shop. I found the perspective on the stones tricky and noticed that I got tricked into drawing them straight on even though they should loop around. I think next time I'll lay in perspective lines first as I did the ellipses for the top of the well already and could just have followed those to lay in the perspective.

Very alive in their simplicity. I like the fuzziness of the pencil. Good plan on handling perspective in the future!

Submission for the "Sketch from Imagination" project. Learning about it from all the memes in 2024, I chose the animal hyrax. :) Reference photos were simply the first few results from a Google image search. I explored the animal across several quick sketches, trying to distill its shapes and learn what differentiates a hyrax from animals of a similar build. I made a few character-building attempts that, while decent by themselves, didn't communicate this little critter's lovable, chaotic energy. Only when I attempted a sketch with its iconic "AWAWA" shouting posture did I find satisfaction in the end result. The final version is a hyrax under the shower, realizing there's no towel nearby and shouting for assistance. Awawa! :))

good result over here , very creative

Omg, this is fantastic!

Day 4: some vegetables in the kitchen. Looking a bit less comical this time. I think the heavier outline I'm using is making it look like a flat comic so I'll try to do that differently tomorrow.

The subjects read very nicely through their outlines; the line thickness does not harm their portrayal, I think. Instead, a commitment to filling out the cast shadows (not just marking where they lay) would better balance the objects in your observation. Consider working on proper measurements as an exercise - here, you've drawn very similar veggies, but not *these* veggies, if you know what I mean :)

I do not feel good about that pinky

The hand is plenty readable, and I wouldn't worry about its proper anatomy yet. Instead, I think you should focus on loosening your lines and making them flow a bit better. They read a bit rigid and nervous as if the hand that drew them doesn't trust itself much yet. Disclaimer: Just another student's opinion, not a master or a teacher in the slightest

Hi again…lol! I attempted the project for a second time for fun. I’ll mention that I haven’t watched the demo video for this project yet so this was a reattempt without any other knowledge except my own. After doing this again, I can say that it did get a little easier and I see a bit of improvement, at least in the spidey hand. This project is harder than it looks for sure. My biggest struggle, aside from proportions, is keeping my lines sketchy without them getting too solidified with the darker contoured lines if that makes any sense. My brain keeps wanting to get all the little details too which shouldn’t be the main fixation. It’ll get easier the more I practice and I’m going to be more mindful of that going forward!

Give yourself more credit! You did noticeably better on the second attempt. And struggling to keep lines free-flowing and loose is absolutely understandable - at least on my end :))
