Study of Lane Brown's "Double Figure Drawing". Lane Brown inspires me to continue practicing my craft with how dynamic and beautiful his work is!
Really good study! Thank you for sharing the artist too, def will take a look. :)

Here are this project's assignment drawings! I need to work on thinking about the shapes that lines represent more.
This project was really fun to work on!

OKAY, so the snail still destroyed me when it came to problem solving proportions. It looks fine after some measurements and some "I feel like this line should be this long". Simplifying the body of the snail was the most difficult part.
It looks great in terms of measurements and confident lines. I really like the cross contour lines.

Oh my god these boots are destroying me. Getting the proportions right is really difficult for me and you can see it in the laces. Although those shroom warmups really made it easier for me to draw confident and fluid lines compared to before.
I'm actually having trouble figuring out how to separate shapes when there are a lot of details on the reference. For example, how would I simplify all those laces?
This project was an overall fun experience and the snail will be next thing I draw!

Pear 2 and Pear 3.
Waiting a day to reflect on my Pear 1 drawing helped me bring me back in track for this project's purpose, simplification.
I'm happy with my decision to consciously think about how dark or light an edge should be based on lighting conditions; it helped me improve my drawing from Pear 1 to Pear 2/Pear 3.
I've struggled with perfectionism but following a process really helps me with that problem.
Thank you!

This is my attempt at pear #1 using my iPad and Procreate.
Doing this project helped me realize how difficult it is to get a consistent value; whether it's because of my inexperience with using a consistent amount of pressure with the apple pencil or how the HB brush reacts when going over a previously marked line. I had a lot of fun!
I did notice my outline of the pear is unintentionally too dark on the lighter right side of the pear and that is something I will keep an eye out for.
I welcome constructive criticism!
I'm excited to learn with everyone!
