added comment inDemo - Build a 1-Point Room - Level 1
Just a couple more quick practises for level 2, I started with the subway, then decided to do a bar after. I also added one of my characters to make the scene more interesting. I really struggled with the position of the bar seats and making them look the right height compared to the table and floor. I'm wondering if there's a way around that? Thanks for any feedback :)

It's easy if you use boxes to represent the chairs and the bar to start out with. You can draw a line on the box that represents the bar to find the height of the chairs and then extrude that the chair box out of the bar box.

I tried out an old arcade and quite like how it turned out. I struggled a bit with the pool table and getting it in a position that looked right, but I think I managed it. I've also included a one point cityscape with a Godzilla scene.

I tried a rough looking dorm room for my first attempt. I find that I sometimes struggle to draw free hand straight lines so I'll have to practise that more.
Love the poster! It looks good without using a ruler! I have the same issue too when doing this free hand. At times I wanna say SCREW IT! im using a ruler, but nah I never do it lmao!

I wanted to do a room that wasn't straight on, I used one of Steve's examples. I definitely did a lot more than just boxes but I was having fun 😁

I really enjoyed this project, it was very helpful for my shape and line quality practise. I gave all my animals names that I thought would suit them too!

I took a longer than expected break, but I'm back with a retry of the simple animal portaits, after watching the demo. I prefer these much more than my last ones. Will be moving onto level 2 next.

This is my first attempt at levels 1 and 2 before looking at the demos. This is the one i've felt the least confident with. I struggled with some to visualise the shapes and get them right, focused too much on the proportions, and felt some of my old habits coming through. I also didn't feel I got creative enough with level 2, and that I was focusing too much on them looking good instead of having fun. I will definitely be trying these again after watching both demos.

My attempt at both before looking at the demos, started off simple with both as I've always somewhat struggled with organising lineweight. Any feedback is appreciated :)

I tried all 3 of the examples again after watching the demo, it helped me a lot to understand the process and better understand the subject. I've also tried to improve my line and sketch quality using some of the other lessons. I've done 3 more of my own sketches, including a picture of my gecko. I feel I've already improved a lot with my lines and mindset, and welcome any criticism to continue improving.

I decided to create a grumpy vulture. I have always enjoyed drawing simple characters with emphasis on shape and expression, so this project was right up my alley. This was a fun challenge as vultures have such a unique look, and it was fun incorporating his natural slouch into his personality. I struggle with perfectionism and tend to overuse my eraser, which can be seen in some of these, and I know the point of sketching is to explore, so I want to get out of the habit of that. Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
