this was fun! I had trouble seeing the top or bottom plane sometimes

Yes, you nailed it! Great job. Just be careful that your objects don't clip the wall -- if you draw a line vertically up from any point on the line that indicates your wall, that's where the object would sit flush against the wall. You could end that bookcase/dresser at that line, move it over until it's clearing the wall, or you could move it up where it is and adjust your lines to make it a shelf.

Good practice! When it comes to proportions, there's a bit of a tendency to make the torso larger, so being aware of this can help keep your eye on it as you continue to practice. It also helps to break up the torso into more defined areas, especially looking at how it twists and turns in the reference. With rhythms as well, you want to be careful with parallel lines or simpler box shapes, as they can remove the dynamic flow of the drawing. Try finding different start and end points for these lines, as that creates an ebb and flow as one line leads to another. Also varying the type of line, such as curves vs straights, can help bring in more variety. Hope this helps, keep up the good work! :)

I’ve done some of this before so I decided to include it as well. This musketeer proved to be very challenging for me and a reminder that I have to get better at drawing facial features

I studied John Ripa for this project. His line quality is hard to replicate for me right now. Overall, this was challenging but fun!

The light and dark was definitely difficult for me, but I think it turned out okay. What do you think?
The light and shadow is the first image in case that’s not clear. The second one is the hierarchy image

I think I need to work some more on my line confidence and quality. What do you think?

I really struggled with the boots with this project. Does anyone have tips or suggestions for that?
I think maybe working up to the boots or a complex subject would help. Try doing the project even more basic, like with the first lesson with the pear, do that with only straights, then do it again side by side with CSI. Then try a subject that is a bit tougher, like the snail or even a shorter jump in complexity like a different fruit or veg but a bit more complicated than a pear.
