Very fun assignment, it made drawing boxes so much more fun by actually trying to represent something with them and made me better at drawing specific boxes not random boxes with no meaning. Definitely felt myself being able to visualize them and drawing the exact boxes I wanted as I did more hands. I feel like my first ones ended up being too thin but was able to fix that somewhat later on. I think it also helped my observation skills since I had to learn how to simplify which required an understanding of what I'm looking at. Any critique is highly appreciated.

Sounds like you did exactly what you needed to for this project.
Learning to simplify complex subject down to simple structures is foundational for drawing. You will learn to see boxes, tubes, and spheres in everything.
Your hand drawings are looking great. Particularly the one on the top of the second image. The perspective and proportion look solid.
The hand with the foreshortened fingers on the first image is extra difficult, so I made this demo to help students. It may not be how Stan does it, but I find it really helpful to start loose before building structures on top. Especially when drawing foreshortened forms.
Hope this helps. Keep it up!

I thought this project was really fun, definitely learned a lot about using two point perspective to represent an object. Will definitely practice more, some of them I was able to do quickly but others took a while just to analyze. Any advice is appreciated.

Drawing long straight lines was so hard but I like the way it turned out. I put the dishwasher on the ground under the tv stand, how's that for inconvenient! This project really revealed the importance of practicing those straight lines. Its so fun constructing everything and it actually feeling like there's some depth to it.

I really liked this project but I think I might not be loose enough with the poses. Can anyone let me know if these look too stiff? Any advice is welcome.

Overall there is good movement in these, but some do feel a bit tight. How are you applying your lines? Do you find that you're making short and dark lines on average? The way that you hold your pencil, using your wrist vs using your whole arm, and the pressure that you apply when drawing your lines can all affect the looseness of your drawings. It's a good practice when working with rhythms to stay light and make long lines, especially when starting a drawing so you can indicate the overall gesture. Your anatomy is looking good, I really like the one on the second page in the top left.

This assignment was very fun although i do think I have to remember to not focus on recreating the seal perfectly and just focus on the gesture itself. Any critiques appreciated.

This was a fun exercise, it's nice to draw off of measurements. Definitely learned a lot doing this portrait. I noticed that the ear is wider than the actual picture. I see how important accurate angles are, if you make a wrong one it can throw off all the rest of your measurements. Any advice is very welcome.

Here are all my simplifications, found it kinda hard to just simplify. My shapes ended up looking bad I feel like.
I think the basic essence of the animal are present in your drawings - line quality and everything else will come in time. At least that's what I am constantly told by my peers as I just started this drawing journey too

I tried so hard to not shade anything in but it would look so much better if I did. Maybe I chose a bad piece for this assignment. It was so much fun to draw something I love so much. I didn't quite know where to change my lines so I focused on darkening and thickening the lines where the shadows where. Any advice is welcome. Based on Greg Rutkowski's Dragon Sketch.
I also decided to keep some of the lines that have shadow around them lighter to not take the attention away from the center area. For example I didn't make some lines next to shadow on the right wing darker.

I feel like I didnt do the shadows and light version very well but I did like my hierarchy of importance version. Ill watch the demo and see where I failed
