Living room and half of a kitchen from imagination. Felt relatively comfortable drawing this.

Great! This is a lovely drawing!

Asked for help
First time attempting to draw the figure from reference. I had to look at the demo and critique to fully get the gist of rhythms. This was very challenging and frustrating at first but over time became more enjoyable. Will definitely keep practicing these!

Asked for help
I did the first page before watching the demo and critique. I didn’t feel like I understood the assignment so I watched the videos before doing the rest of them. Still not sure if I managed to passably complete the assignment. I definitely will keep doing these as I feel like I need to work on my shape design. The references I used are the first 10 that were given. I would love to get some feedback on how I could improve these.
@jomii
Here's my attempt. Took way longer than expected, probably because I'm not used to measuring proportions so I had to keep remeasuring. I had a hard time finding a good measurement for placing the ear in the right spot which shows in the overlay. Also I missed the mark on the jaw as I placed it by eyeballing & connecting it with the misplaced ear. Overall I think this is a passable result with the amount of eyeballing I did after laying out the big shapes. In the future for more accuracy I could measure more often while adding the details.
@jomii
Heres my level 1 attempt. I feel like I got the hang of it better for my own references which I did after the given portraits. Fun and also challenging assingment. It was at times hard to design the shapes, especially while keeping them simple. Although I like the simplified shapes a lot!

Here's my study after Glen Keane. I managed to practice everything taught in the course so far while studying the lines of Glen's work. Feels like I picked up on a couple of things. I think I still mainly need to work on tapering lines and having more confidence in my strokes.
@jomii
Here are my assignments. Caught myself making scratchy lines a few times. But overall I'm happy with the progress and results.

I honestly struggle with the snail more than shoes 😂😂😂 I don’t know why but here it is, before demo

I think the snail looks great!
@jomii
Aand heres the snail. Managed to find a few rythms to aid me in getting the right lines in the right place. I'm unsure how we were supposed to add line weight though. I tend to make very light lines initially as I'm not confident I'll get the line right immediately. Should I draw over to strenghten the lines afterwards or just directly draw with more weight?
@jomii
My attempt at simplifying while using CSI. Didn't find that many straights. The shoelaces were a pain.

Thanks for sharing your process!

Those laces are really hard, you made them very clear. Also you put down really confident lines
@thewayofallflesh
I was frustrated with them too haha but that's a sign where to improve and that we're improving. When we are frustrated by not doing something right our brain gets in the mode of trying to think about a new way to solve the problem, i.e. learning
