@leolopyz
Any critique appreciated (: im definitely going to do more of these but for now here’s what I’ve done

Great job getting your work up here. Part of mastering ones craft is considering presentation and orientation of your work. I would love to see your images in landscape.

My first Proko Pressure Placement Practice sheet and class notes. Upon perusal I profess to a lack of proficiency. Mushrooms will be replacing jumping jacks as my new drawing warm-up exercise.
Heidi Lorenz
I love you write the key points everywhere to remind yourself of what to keep an eye on, thats awesome!

Level 2 exercises prior to video tutorial. By the shear fact of showing up I already feel improvement from yesterdays drawings! I'm loving these exercises. It's taken a long time to address furthering my drawing skills! I can't imagine what was holding me up!! Probably a core fear of being rejected by the tribe...well, you fail ahead of time if you don't face the page!

I like both these drawings, but I think for this exercise you could simplify the camel a bit further. The lines look confident though and your proportions are good.

It was really fun to do these exercises.n
Heidi Lorenz
Yes, I agree love doing these exercises. I find it's liberating to do the exercise for the growth and not to think about the outcome or income!

I attempted the boots first, totally not thinking the snail would be better (simpler) to begin with! So, I had three attempts at the boots prior to watching the tutorial and one snail! I enjoyed all of it...noticing my new sketch pad has paper you can see through...hmmm! The first sketch was super quick then the second more pulling and pushing when I began to see the shapes a bit better. The third was a more fluid and went smoothly. I didn't even think to look at the pair of boots as a whole to block in the initial shapes...I will try that on my next attempts. I started teaching a group of teenage girls this week and boy do I need to step up my game with my goals and clarity to get my message across to them. I want to improve so i can help these girls the best I can!!

So much for shoe laces...I simplified a little too much!! ;-)

Here is my first attempt at the pear without first watching Stan's tutorial. I will upload the second attempt as I've done it to compare and see how I processed the new information. I was conscious about keeping straight lines and simplifying shapes. I cannot really tell the difference between my highlights and the next value. The highlights were an after thought and I erased them in...not that successfully I might add. Note taken. I also went in with a water soluble marker for the background as an after thought because I bought these new markers yesterday and wanted to play with them. Anyway, I will go in and give this another go!

My second attempt to me looks more complex than I feel I wanted. The lines are not clear and sharp more wishy washy! My thoughts were not as clear as I felt when watching the tutorial. As I went into this I forgot to join values with pencil stokes of the lighter value next to it as Stan suggests! I will continue...with this before proceeded to level 2.

Alright, I didn’t make the deadline but I’m finally caught up in projects because I started the course late, I’d still appreciate some feedback on this one because I really want to improve on figure/gesture drawings (figure drawing course is next on my list) I usually draw 20-30 1min poses every day so I used this project to give myself a bit more time and focus on implementing “force” lines and some basic muscle bumps and other anatomy features. i spent about 5mins on each of these
Heidi Lorenz
Oh, so good!!! I can really feel rhythm in these figures!
