Asked for help
Wow this was much harder than I expected it to be. It was so easy to misproportion something to the point where it no longer looked human. I'd definitely appreciate some feedback on this one.

I tried a few more poses and focused a little more on the proportions of the figures. I think the drawings might have lost a little bit of their flowiness and rhythm. I'm going to continue working on finding a better balance between the rhythm and accuracy.

Wow this is amazing! Very helpful!

I did the project with the photo of the musketeer and was very challenged by this exercise! It took me a long time to map out the basic shapes and I will definitely need to keep practicing this skill to improve.

Tried another attempt with a different reference.

It took alot of trial and error but starting to understand the concept a bit. I definitely need to practice this one alot more.

Getting the proportions always seems to be a bit of a struggle, but I had fun with this assignment. It seemed a lot easier to follow these line arts compared to the real-life pictures from the last project.

The proportions are a bit off but here was my attempt at simplifying the shapes to just three types of lines.

Study of Kamome Shirahama. The specific piece studied below is from the Witch Hat Atelier series. I am a very beginner artist and haven't drawn much before this course. It was daunting to try and copy a full picture, so I decided to focus on a small section of the clothing. From this study I saw that Shirahama likes to add more line weight to separate different layers of clothing to add to their depth. Although not shown in the following example, she occasionally also outlines the shadowed areas of the clothing in other drawings to create more contrast between the light and dark areas. Additionally, the light lines within the clothing were the most obvious and striking part of her line work. They seem to be drawn to emphasize the shape and movement of the clothing. Overall, I think because of the line techniques Shirahama's clothing on her drawings are full of depth. They seem to flow around the characters and the page which makes them very visually striking.

Level 0 artist just trying to dabble in art for the first time! Here is my attempt before the demo, after the demo, and the reference picture.

Not bad at all. I see that you understood ideas and worked on your mistakes. I suggest to repeat this assigment with a different image too.
