This is surprisingly relaxing

Tried out Level 2. Shape and proportion needs a little work but overall better then yesterday's pear effort. Nose probably needs a but more tilt as it makes the face a bit more front facing.

First hour ! I cannot bring myself to begin with the head, so they feel a bit stiff. But aside, what a great practice; the previous lessons lead so well to this one.

Man, I'm so tired of these structureless things... Yet, I now understand how someone designed Jabba the Hutt.

Fighting laziness is the real homework.

Hey, Well, the assigned ones were pretty difficult (except the rooster); I tried those without looking at the demos... but now I can finally watch how to draw that cursed hippo.

Hey, Here's my study of a drawing (just a detail, I didn't see the full page) from a XIIIth century breviary, artist unknown. I focused on meaning; what is the story, and how do lines tell it ? My guess : the hounds are chasing the deer without hesitation. This one is lost and panicking (it gesture is broken), but between them is a tree (a forest, maybe). It will, at a certain point, slow the hounds (a perpendicular gesture), telling us that a lot could yet happen. It's amazing how every line is C,S or I.

Hey, Here goes. I tried to simplify, because not all lines are meaningful (I guess ?). Don't know if that's any good, anyway.
