Some examples I'd like to understand and emulate. Two of these are actually photos I snipped for reference for a project. I find illusions endlessly entertaining and would like to be able to incorporate them in my work. I also would like to understand how to reproduce relections, or better yet create them from imagination.

Running a bit "behind" but this is my attempt at simplifying the boots before watching Stan's demo of them. I definitely got caught up in the detail of the laces as others did. I'm looking forward to watching the video now to try to better understand what is important versus noise. I'm also seeing the perspective and proportion issues, but, later... they're just boots.
Since I am a beginner I am not really qualified to critique but your simplification looks great.

Here's my level 1 snail. I think I'm taking too long and calculating too much. I spent some time just ghosting and redrawing the lines to build more confidence.
I'm worried I'm taking too long as well. I know how long it takes is personal, but he mentioned fast, but not rushed. Not sure if I hit the mark on that lol. Your snail looks great!

First go at Mario Mushrooms. This is a great exercise... a lot that I need to work on.

Pear #1 before watching demos. Pear #3 after watching demos. Currently using a single mechanical writing pencil. I'll switch to artist pencils as soon as I figure out where I put them :P
