#1 10 drawing - 30 second warmup (vine charcoal) #2 10-15 minutes each (condensed charcoal) #3 20 minutes (graphite) i struggled ALOT lol
@itay_shlomi
Can definitely tell how you improve as you go there, these are really decent! Keep grinding man the struggle is worth it 😤

5 poses, 20 min each. Surprised I got so little done on smaller paper than yesterday 😭 good anatomy practice but also felt nice to work at my imagination for figuring out where the tail should go.

25 min layins, I’m just now finding out about the challenge and didn’t want to miss day 1 so I only got around to doing 2 since I gotta go to bed lol. I’m taking the basic fundamentals course right now so I tried to implement some of what I’m learn there (still in the first few lessons) so basically simplifying shape with straight lines. While also using some other techniques I know when it comes to drawing anatomy and the figure. the second one was very challenging to me especially since I don’t draw men too often. And idk if my layins are too sketchy to be layins (still sorta confused on the concept of a layin) but I did my best. Overall I really liked this challenge.

So I did 10mins a piece. Some I was done a lil early. Didn’t watch the whole stream before I started so I didn’t know how far to render (and with my current abilities I dont feel I could have taken them much further) but for each model I did find an outline to contain the pose and then divided that up to find the proportions. Some were more challenging than others but I’m happy with the results and proud of myself for giving it a go. Thanks for the challenge ❤️

Thanks for posting this lol it actually helped me a lot to figure out how to get the general outline of a pose. I was trying to outline all the curves (basically doing the contour) which made it difficult to figure out proportions later

All were 25 minute lay ins. First time posting!

These are great!

My pear attempt after watching the demo, and challenging myself to use pencil vs charcoal. Throughout the process I found myself wanting to skip steps a lot. I tried my best to keep it simple, use straight lines, and keep to 5 values but pretty sure I ended up with 6. I think I did fine, but I did have a tough time with the shadow and the dark midtown ranges.

The first two pics are my first attempt before watching the demo and the last two pics are my attempt after watching the demo. I also changed the range of pencils I was using to match the ones in the video. Feel free to comment if you want to. Anyway, onto the next videos / projects.

I think you did well!! and can see the improvement on the second one.

Good grief, I cannot draw. Used your source photo. Always have issues with size of image and size of what I draw!

I think you did pretty well capturing the values. I think when it comes to size, try relating it to the previous line. For example, if your first line is the top of the pair, the next line to the left is about 2x the length of that previous line. IDK if that makes sense. But also for the bottom of the pair try breaking up the one long line into about 3 lines to make up the curved shape of the bottom. I measure out my lines as they relate to other lines for example the indent on the right side is slightly above the indent on the left side. IDK if that helped at all.
@cassvieira
First attempt, I used a fruit I already had (an apple) but it had a very soft and diffused light + the different color range made it hard for me to figure out the value range. So then I used the references and did all 3. I used a charcoal pencil and found it easier to lay down values. I think if I had done a value scale first that would have helped a lot with the midtones.
