My go at shadow mapping. Tried to make the pose a little more dynamic but mostly stuck to observing the proportions from the waist up. Currently lacking equipment so will attempt to continue shading with just my charcoal pencils

Shadow mapping time! Not sure if it's the picture I use, or if I am drawing too small, or maybe the charcoal pen, but I struggle to achieve good smoothness. Feels like something is missing, some level of detail, but I can't see what it is.

I completed the course a few months ago, but I've been practicing as regularly as possible. Done a few studies recently from references I took from life drawing class. I've taken these as far as the blocking-in the shadow mapping stage, so the 2-value method. Drawing through the form is a big help, which I didn't use to do very often before.

Hello there!
This is today exercise. Let me know what you think of it. I'm trying to incorporate shadow mapping in the gesture drawing.

First time shadow mapping. It was fun.
The figure I'm drawing is about 8x5 inches (20x13 cm). Because of how small it is, I'm having trouble getting sharp edges where I would like them. If I could, I would make the edge of the right elbow much sharper and cleaner.

Shadow mapping stage. Had a bit of trouble with the left side on her arm and hand where a second strong light hits.
