A study of an impossible cube. I used Procreate's quick lines to create straight lines for the construction and final rendering. Otherwise i didn't use any helping guides / rulers on purpose since I wanted to train eyeballing angles and precision of the perspective in general. It was quite hard, but I think I managed even though it's not perfect.

You managed it. Good job Sandra!

This is what I want to achieve: 1) Deepen my perspective knowledge and abilities to improve all my motifs in general 2) Especially improve my character drawings with correct anatomy and clothing in perspective like great Mangaka & other favorite artists of mine (Takeshi Obata, Kōhei Horikoshi, zuohe24, Gege Akutami, John Grello, Lee InHyuk, Jeong Hyeon & co.) + more natural looking 3) Improve on extreme perspectives & certain weaknesses (inclined planes & multiple characters interacting for example) And yes, I study anatomy & gesture extensively too

It's an exciting page that displays your skill at designing exciting pages as well as your skill at choosing strong examples. Thank you for the post, Sandra!

Forearm assignment example 4

Forearm assignment example 3 - test and study. It’s really hard to define the exakt position of the forearm muscles. I wish there was an interactive and accurate 3d model where you can turn the arm as you like and see all the muscles. I’ve got the art pose app but it’s not that accurate and detailed.

Really nice! - The shapes could be a little more like the reference, and the arm a little more flexed. Cheers!

Hands imagined (test) and studied. Feedback is welcome. :) the most problems I have is with female hands on which I focused here. Can’t get them slender enough. Even studying from my own hands (see the complete blue sheet) which are really thin they somehow end up pretty bubbly I think. Is there a trick to get female hand proportions more accurate easier?

Nice work! The main thing I see is your pinkys tend to be too big/long as compared to the other fingers. For better female hands I would look up artists you like and copy from them to learn how it can be done smoother.

Cartoon Hands studies

Hey Sandra, I like that your taking hands and cartooning them, It's pretty fun. Coming from the animation industry, I have had to draw cartoon hands quite a bit. One thing I learned is that even though they are cartoony, they still have to have structure and overlapping shapes and, believe it or not, acting. One of the things I noticed about your hands is that you didn't always keep the anatomy of the fingers. Sometimes you only drew two segments instead of three. Also, if your showing fingers pushing down on a surface, you have to flatten them out so they look like they are really pushing down. That's what I mean by acting. We were taught at Disney to always use straights against curves when designing our hand shapes, especially with the fingers. I did a quick sketch to show you some of what I mean, hope it helps :)

Love these! I feel like the palm of the one on the left could be a bit narrower - or rather bulk up the fingers and wrist instead. Overall, great job!
