maybe it would help your proportions if you continue practicing the regular bean, not the robo bean. then start drawing the regular bean lightly and draw the robo bean over it. this kinda helped me with my proportion issues

My recommendation would be Marc Leone on YouTube he has beautiful tutorial on perspective for beginners. (Or @Marshall Vandruff ) Then try again with robo bean. Understanding perspective is really important without it you can't find proper center of forms or bend them in space.

👋After grinding 30seconds poses I'm trying myself at 2 minutes. I'm not sharing everything but this is a representative sample with some bad and some kinda good^^ What do you guys think of this? 😀

I did these to show you how I represented the gesture of three of them. I agree @Serena Marenco, just focus on finding the flow. Don’t worry about the shape. Good try!! I hope you best of luck on you other practice🥇🧨🥇
Serena Marenco
Hi Hugo, the purpose of this exercise is not to draw the shapes, but to identify and represent the gesture. Identify (this you have started to do) the main line of action, the one that determines the main movement of the body. On this line identify the position and inclination of shoulders and pelvis (you can represent them as simple line segments or as boxes, depending on the time available), on shoulders and pelvis insert arms and legs that you will represent with C or S lines as appropriate. Don't worry about the shape, the features of the subject don't need to be represented, just the gesture. :)

Hi Hugo, I would watch the step-by-step video. I think you are breaking the body down into too many pieces/lines. Its probably a good idea to lay down all of your gesture lines first and add on the contour ones if you have time left.

Okay, I'm revisiting Gesture drawing to improve my skill! Would love any feedback. A note on these, they go in reverse order. The latest ones were after I rewatched Stan's videos, and I focused on efficiency. The ref was Croquis Cafe.

As Dylan said you should try to focus more and the flow of the figure using only CSI lines. The point of the exercise is really to get a good understanding of the movement. Which is hard to do actually ! Keep up the good work :)

Hello gang ! Back with some new gesture drawings, I feel I'm getting a lil better everyday. Feels good. This is a draw along with the 2minutes poses video, I tried my best. Tell me what could get better before I move on to next course ! Thanks 👋
Bradwynn Jones
Hi Hugo! Try thinking of drawing through the forms rather than getting the bumps on the contour of the body or limbs. Stick to just the CSI curves. I like the feel of the poses you have so far and I can see their gesture. I think looking to use more big sweeping flowing C or S curves will help the gesture even more.

Hi gang ! 👋 I tried to focus less on contour since that was my main problem last time. I worked only with 30 second poses to force myself drawing only the most essentials lines of actions. So here it is, tell me what you think about it and how to get better ! ;)
Serena Marenco
Hi Hugo, much better! Try to draw the arms more fluidly.
Bradwynn Jones
Great work on thinking about the main line of action. To help it flow even more think of the limbs like a snake. Also use the CSI lines more too. The attached image is just the idea of using C curves and S curves on the legs to push the gesture or at least help it flow more. You are doing good and I hope this helps.
Hugo
Hello fellow future artists ! I got my first try at gesture drawing, tell me what you think about it and how to make it better😃 Im afraid I might be more into contour than action line 🧐

Thank you all, that's what I was afraid of after looking back at it. I'll get more into the flow from now on :)

I did few more yesterday. Gotta do more today. Hope can get early crits

You got to get these big size papers, draw bold and condifently, don't think about trees too much. It's just practice, bigger mistakes are more visible hehe
