doin some fun ref study. I'd like to know what i can improve. I know this is too fast for me to learn anatomy, but I'm having fun learning them somehow

You got to get these big size papers, draw bold and condifently, don't think about trees too much. It's just practice, bigger mistakes are more visible hehe

These are really good but you are doing very small studies I would recommend getting a A2 size SketchBook or doing one frige on one page because having Little space restricts the flow of line which in turn affects your figure drawing

Hi Raymond, these gestures are really effective (obviously in such fast poses there will be some that work less, but the process is correct) At this point, as you continue to practice this, try to get a cleaner line. Are you using charcoal? Maybe it's still a bit too soft for you, try using a 4B pencil (B2 may be too hard for you, but maybe try that too), it's still soft but not so soft that it makes the paper dirty in the same way as charcoal.

Hi Raymond! I really like the movement you have managed to capture in the gestures, the only one that could use a little more or it is the pose that is half lying down in the upper left side I think you have a very beautiful flow to them, but if you would want to elevate them to an extra degree, some of them, like the legs on the gesture in the lower left side might have use for even more of those flowing lines. I really like them, many of them look very graceful, (like the one in the middle of the bottom row) and they have a lot of life to them, I think you did very well!

Back again with gesture. It's really exciting! Still confused on how to exaggerate the pose. I hope that I can get a feedback.

Hi, your lines are little messy i would suggest working on your line quality , if you're trying to rush because the time is just not enough i suggest adding more time as long as you keep focusing the motion not the coutures.

hello @Raymond Xu , try drawing the form to your gesture, it's otherwise kinda difficult to critique your work, the gesture looks fine, hope to see more of your work soon ;)

Having fun with 2 mins gesture. I'd like to know if I added too much detail

Hey, I'm here for a hand critique. I feel my hand drawing is very sloppy and doesn't feel right.

First, hands are very hard. Good job for just trying them. I'd say the two main things you could improve on here are proportions/perspective and line quality. On the top hand, the perspective on the fingers could be improved upon (much like the hands I draw lol) and the thumb looks too far from the hand. I'd try practicing breaking the hand down into basic flat shapes to figure out the proportions, and then once you figure that out, breaking it down into a rectangular prism for the hand and cylinders for the fingers. I'd definitely use reference, maybe even draw the forms on top of reference. Looking at the skeleton of the hand should be helpful too. As for the bottom hand though, it looks nice, I like the shape design. For the line quality, you probably could do some exercises, but in the meantime, here's a trick. Draw with the sketchy lines, and when you're done erase it so they're faint, and then draw over them with nice connected lines. Anyway I hope that was helpful, if you have any questions please ask!

You're going way too soon for something that's very advanced. Drawing hands involves gesture, structure, perspective, anatomy and there still more depending the way you want to render it. You need all the fundamentals to do it and if you're shaky on that your hands would not feel right. It's a long way, and it requires a lot of practice to work. So I would like you to first go back the the figure course drawing, review the lessons on gesture and structure (the free versions would suffice). Draw a lot of boxes, do a lot of quick sketch. Then review the lesson on hand bones and practice that version of the hand. That's very important! After all that if you did, you'll luckily have a good understand of how the hand works. At the point, come back to this lesson and work on the anatomy to complement the bones. Best regards
