inspired by one of Ahmed Aldoori's videos, so here's my version of a "Dishonored" style guy. Would really love to hear some critique

I started last December, and I am current working on my mastering of this class. The only thing this course is missing is to elaborate on the muscle of the cheeks, and some facial expressions stuffs. I am quite happy with how familiar I got to drawing faces. I can’t wait to redraw this one. And get better.

looking good. keep going!

(I'm gonna post this here again) Hello everyone, I started with Proko almost a year ago (and drawing with a more serious effort in general) and eventually got into Watts Atelier since fall '20 thanks to Stan and his videos about Jeff Watts. I hope I can further hone my portraiture skills as well as the figure. This is my latest assignment for a head drawing class, if you have any pointers let me know.

Really looks great overall! You seem to have good structure and a good placement of dark values. I guess if I were to critique anything perhaps the ear could use some detail and the lines on the collar stand out in a bit of an odd way compared to the overall face. The lines around the face aren't as defined since they are surrounded by shading but the collar does look a bit cartoonish in comparison. However, overall I think you've done a great job and I hope you find this comment useful.

Great drawing Christopher! Only critique I have is may be try working the "egg effect" on him. I think putting more value in the bottom third of the face will help transition into the darker value of the shadow under the chin. Or may be lighten it a bit. Basically it's kind of popping out to me too much is all. Great structure and solid drawing!

Hello together. Here are some of my drawings since I have started the portrait course. Critiques would be great. Thank you in advance. Have a great day 😉✏️

looking good mate, seems like you're a student at Watts Atelier too. The shaded portrait looks like the same ref I used for Erik Gists 20-min lay ins class?!

This looks incredible. And very inspiring for me right now

The facial features are wonderfully constructed but the neck pulls me away from them! Of course you don't want to end up putting equal detail into it, but I think just one or two muscle indications and smoother shading (it looks like perhaps you could build up softer layers as opposed to going dark on individual strokes?) would really help. The reason it draws attention now is that it's very flat compared to the face which creates a lot of visual contrast, and there's a lot of different (unorganized) tones and strokes in the neck's shading causing visual interest that draws the eye as well. I'm sure you'll won't have much trouble though, you're clearly very skilled from your handling of the face!

This looks amazing 👍 way better than mine 😅👌
