Here are my attempts. I did overhand grip with graphite pencil.

hey, this was my attempt for this. Comparing now the photo and the drawing it looks like I missed a few big-picture things like the angle of the head. I think the beard being kind of "fuzzy" and not being super defined threw me off. Anyway, good exercise!

I did some studies from Josh Hunter Black and Oleg Yurkov. I learned a lot! They have very energetic lines. On paper I still have some trouble when it comes time to put down darker lines - I find I generally ruin the drawing at that stage. That's why I kept them mostly light here. Very interested if anyone has any tips/critique. Thank you!
