It was really hard for me to choose an artist who uses lines, because my current references specialize in rendering :') So it took me two days to find someone that I like and is close to what I want. This person is Hicham Habchi. His lines are amazing and in my study, I have noticed that he greatly emphasizes the character's eyes and their expressions. So I focused on studying how he makes faces and what his lines are like depending on which areas of the face. It was fun and I completely left my comfort zone with a style very different from mine. Hi everyone! These exercises transported me to the art school! It was fun! The "connect the dots" exercise was challenging for me. That's because I tried to draw the lines on different directions, and I usually draw with the sketchbook rotated, I am not able to draw with the sketchbook vertically, or even write. :'')

Hi! I chose an owl because its my favourite animal and I thought it would be fun to draw. In the first photo, I forgot to save some references, I also feel that the sketches are quite poor. I let time pass and today I returned to the activity, got some more references and repeated everything. I feel like I have understood the structure of the owl better now. In the third photo, there are the sketches made from imagination. I think they are quite adorable and fluffy! Fat owls are super fun to draw!

I think taking a break is a great way to process what you've learned and reset. I really love your owls from imagination, so cute! Keep it up 👍

Hi! It's been a while. Here are my drawings. I tried the drawing of the girl twice because I didn't feel like it was a sketch. I spent too much time detailing and cleaning the line a lot, I think the second one turned out better. When I draw from a reference, I make the mistake of making the drawing as close to the original as possible, even "forgetting" my style. It happens to me especially with portraits.

Hi there! I tried all references. My sketching is really dirty cuz I I have been drawing digitally for years and I have neglected that part. I'm also drawing in a different sketchbook than last time and I've drawn the first project again on this type of paper to test it and why not, to practice again. I shoud work my traditional sketching (and digital) to simplify my lines and work cleaner. I have needed to delete some lines over and over again because of that... I think I became very unsecure when I have to draw traditionally because you know, the paper has a limit. That's because I'm doing this course full traditionally instead digitally. The CTRL + Z key is dangerous haha. I think the most challenging reference for me was the picture of the boots. The most fun was the camel for sure.

The camel was definetly the most fun haha! And the boots were so rough to do. I'm surprised they were lvl 1. I think they all capture the info well, but I feel like they have a more somber tone than mine. Maybe because thy lines are slightly more searching? I feel you on the digital transition. When I switched back to paper from iPad last year for all my sketching and designing I found myself trying to double tap to undo lines on my paper lol.
