added comment inBox Men Explained
Well it turns out I can’t draw a box man anyway so my earlier post doesn’t matter…….

I don’t get how the box men exercise is helpful…. If it’s not something that will lead to anatomically correct figures, why bother? To see how well you can make a figure out of boxes? A design exercise? I struggle with drawing the figure from imagination so it seems it would be more productive to practice something that would help me improve. Not see if I can design a figure out of boxes or triangles or broomsticks or whatever….

All this will do is lead me to spend a butt ton of time looking up reference.... I would like to just be able to open my sketchbook and draw. That's why my sketchbooks have one drawing per page and it's something I copied. Because I rarely have ideas and when I do, I don't know how to draw them.
I made something called Kooka, Mate! Now I can’t stop! Just find something you like, Print it, then draw! I don’t do that, I have a crazy imagination, Mate! I draw something in my mind, then draw it! It can be something from memory that I saw made from AI, or other people! So that’s why I draw so good, I made my classmate question why he still draws! Anyway, later, Mate! Also Irshad, Mate, Please don’t say Hell. My sis uses this website. (c" ತ,_ತ)

While I'm a strong believer in the idea that people are more likely to discount their ideas so quickly that they don't even recognize the fact that they crossed their minds, sometimes we definitely need some help pulling them out of us.
Recently I held a "Promptathon" event for the Drawabox community - basically a new prompt each day, with each one being detailed but open-ended, allowing participants to stick as closely as they like to it, or take it way off in their own direction. As a result, we have a bunch of such prompts which you can find here: https://drawabox.com/drawingprompts/random
Perhaps these kinds of prompts will help you get started as a jumping off point, until you feel more comfortable doing so on your own.

Well, I still suck at shading…
lol, my guess is that no matter how good you get you will never be as good as you want to be. If you are lucky it will be that way until you are dead.
Well this should suck. Can’t wait to see what garbage I can create for this one…
The thing I learned the most about gesture drawing comes from looking at all the examples here in the comment section. And that is, everyone sucks at gesture drawing. It's not just me.....
Can I use acrylic as an alternative for gouache, because I don't have that?
Is a reference photo mandatory? Can I use my imagination?
In the lesson notes, it doesn't mention watercolor... Can I use watercolor?
How in the chicken fried buttcheek am I supposed to know how to paint award winning thumbnails?

Here is an hour long tutorial on how I tackle digital thumbnails on Infinite Painter (but the concepts apply the same to any app):
