Refine the painting. Should I push the values further?
Morgan Weistling
You know what? This is really turning out good
Eric Lee
Should make the shadow of the hair a little darker. It's too wet to continue.
Morgan Weistling
Yes, you need to have more contrast so that’s a good place to start

This drawing has been measured extensively, but it still feels slightly off.
Morgan Weistling
good job on your measuring!

The lecture was really helpful in clearly explaining the difference between observational drawing and knowledge-based drawing.

I think I gave him a larger nose, which led to other errors accumulating and resulting in the bottom half of the face being too large. I pinched the mouth area and pushed things up a little digitally.

Finally finish this one. I have some problems with adding color, blending, and repeating the process.
Morgan Weistling
By going that lack with background you making her shadows look anemic . I’d lighten it up and match closer your darkest dark in the head.
Eric Lee
Is the skin tone too yellow?
Morgan Weistling
The yellow or warm flesh Tums are not an issue, but what is an issue is the eye on the right or his left eye is too high

2-value study with finger blending. I'am not sure whether I should treat the folds as shadow or half tone. As they are quite dark, I can still see them when I squint.
Morgan Weistling
I think your decisions for the what is the shadow are good ones. I feel like the skin tone is a bit too yellow though.

The thing that would help this, the most is for you to clean up all your half tones that are too dark. In the course I talk about keeping your half tones lighter than they appear. I’m afraid you wear too dark with many of them.

THe ear is a little larger than life size. I found it is hard to smooth the sculpture on this scale.
Andrew Joseph Keith
Hey nicely done! the forms are looking good! A suggestion I might have is taking a tool for smoothing and running it across the forms (not along the forms) to smooth the ear. I think this is great so far so keep up the great work!

Make a portrait before learning more anatomy.
Andrew Joseph Keith
Great job! There's nothing that jumps out at me as far as things to change. I would just get to the next sculpture as the practice is what will make you improve. Keep going!
