Decided to restart this course since I haven’t done it in a few months. Would love a critique on the face cause I was pretty lost there. (Also the smaller pear was a very scuffed one from memory)

Nice work!
You want to separate the shapes into 5 even values for this exercise.
I like how you drew the face so I tried to keep the same shapes. Just cleaned it up a bit.
Hope this helps. Keep it up!

I would suggest trying out a light lay-in sketch first, where you focus on the bigger shapes that make up the subject (e.g. the rectangular boots, circle for the head, etc.) so it can give you more of a guide to follow. So here for example, you could check if the torso is about the same size + distance from the boots and head, if the legs are at the same angle, or if the hand is landing at the correct spot. That way, you can catch and fix any mistakes early on, and it makes diving into the sketch much more manageable as well.

im so lost lol im obviously doing something very wrong i just cant tell
These are actually nice gestural lines. It's just the relation between lines that you're missing. You could try mapping things out more slowly and keeping an eye on how each line relates to others you put down. Overall though, these are nice loose lines, they just need to be reined in a bit.

First pic was my first attempt at the pear when I rushed it pretty hard, second pic is my more recent attempt after watching the entire critique video, and I also tried the portrait. critiques would be very appreciated.
Good on you for attempting Level 1 and Level 2! I think that your shading could be better: more even, and greater distinction between shades.
