Hippo done. Tried to push the shape a bit but, looking at it now, it doesn't look very pushed.

Not a fan of this guy, but I love the piece of hay and his tongue.

These are awesome. Love the exaggerated proportions. These little guys have so much character to start with, it's hard to tell which ones are the studies. ;) Would be fun to push the shapes further away from their natural shapes. Great work.

Proportions are difficult. But I think I’m improving and getting the Hanford of the concept

Looks nice overall. Remember to use nice loose confident strokes and just work on capturing the rhythms of the forms. Think long flowing strokes from your arm and shoulder and not your fingers.

First two done. About 20 minutes each. Moving on to the VR girl. I would imagine that one will take me longer to explore. I like to understand the 3D shapes in these fun character drawings.

Finished her up. More like an hour for this one. I do find myself worrying about how accurate my drawings are and not letting go of the proportions and accuracy enough. I am going to give the drawing from imagination project a go and see what happens.

I love these. Nice energy in these sketches. How long did these take?
@malorie
Did the rest of them, but this is when I started to actually get nice and gestural. I can see that I will be going through these again. This is exactly what I am trying to learn from this course, nice free gestural sketching.

Finally worked my way through the lace maze. I am definitely stuck in an accuracy mode and can't seem to just let things be loose. Darn, forgot the zipper pulls.

These are actually nice gestural lines. It's just the relation between lines that you're missing. You could try mapping things out more slowly and keeping an eye on how each line relates to others you put down. Overall though, these are nice loose lines, they just need to be reined in a bit.

These look nice. Have you watched Stan's boot demo? He shows a nice way to get your general layout started so that your subject fits nicely on your page. Kind of an oversimplified bounding box shape to start and then work into more and more detail.
@malorie
My first attempt. Been drawing on and off for a long time, but always tight with my fingers. Decided to learn again the right way this time. Also wanted to commit to digital since the technology has gotten so good and affordable.
