Value scale with pencils and then a test with bic pen since I've been using that a lot in my moleskine. Its definitely tough to adapt pen into a scale - probably hatching is a better method :)

Hi everyone!! Excited and slightly nervous for this course! I've been learning to draw for the past 5 years, but got stuck and then realized I never actually learned my fundamentals :) So, after not understanding ANYTHING about perspective for the longest time, I'm here to learn it! (maybe one day... master it??) I have found that its easy to paint a portrait, but hard to create a world for that character to live in, so that I can tell stories with them. During these past couple years, I've essentially become the copier in the little animation in this video! I am terrified of working without reference! So I'm looking forward to building my sense of form and space, and exercising my creativity more and more. I've already seen a lot of progress with my understanding of these concepts with Prokos basics course, but I know that Marshall has some definite wisdom on this topic that I can't wait to hear more from him on it. Truth be told, I had a hard time finding examples of artists I look up to right now that are perspective masters, so I am interested in finding more as time goes on. The ones I've attached below though include Airi Pan, Kan Liu, and Rembert Montald. Some other creatives I respect greatly include Peter Han and Kim Jung Gi, for their ability to create on the fly. I'd love to learn perspective enough to be able to rotate a space, which is a useful skill for both comics and animation. As well as imagine 3d forms with more ease for building characters and animals, and really, whatever I want to create :) I prefer a more intuitive approach to drawing, so internalizing as many perspective lessons as I can will be a great boon to my imagination and sketching skills!

The first two images are so lovely! And 666k is such a good artist :D

Level 1 torso boxes! I didn't think I'd enjoy making these so much. Sometimes feel like i pushed it too far, but I'm really trying to train my brain to understand twisting movements better.

Beautiful work!

Thought I'd struggle way more with this one but it was actually a ton of fun. I did have trouble keeping my contours clean though with the darker pencil unfortunately. I loved the opportunity to design these little guys though! Made up some strange creatures too for the fun of it. Any critique welcome :)

Ginger roots and then some imaginary forms. I found the ginger to be more daunting than I expected, but I found they didn't turn out too bad considering. Good practice!

Blobs to boxes! This is a pretty fun one. I have practised trying to boxify figures before, but it felt a lot easier this time around after having a better understanding of perspective and form. Definitely enjoying making these little mannequin people. Excited for the figure portion coming up!

An additional page I drew after :) Really fun to play with poses and foreshortening!

A unique car design I thought up + a tank following along with Proko's demo. I definitely found the car a challenge, but I actually enjoyed it regardless :) being able to come up with a custom vehicle is pretty neat! Gonna have to practice the concepts more, but I'll spread it out since it makes my brain all mushy still and I only have energy for so much perspective 🥲 Any critique is welcome! :)

Hands 1 and 2. Redid the first one as you can see, I feel like some of my boxes are still a little off but its getting better! With the 2nd one I also redid it but my first attempt was way more rough so it was hard to read. Definitely the hardest assignment for me yet, I think I'm too worried about getting it perfect instead of good enough.

My arcade ! I feel like my vertical straights are messing me up at times, throwing other measurements off. Did some realigning at the end to fix some issues at least. Also, not sure if I did the angled portion of the pinball machine right, thoughts?

Perspective is such a hard concept for me! Its hard to go into without adjusting everything at least twice along the way. Did this one in pencil to start, then darkened with a pencil crayon since it wouldn't smudge around. I'd love to get to the point where I can draw reliably in pen though, especially for urban sketching. Gotta really practice my straight lines, I guess! They always wobble somewhere along the line or go astray of my goal. Gonna tackle more of these for sure. Any advice is appreciated though :)
