This was fun, even though it turned out S#*t! lol. Eyes and nose not too bad. The rest is way off!

I like this approach. I often get stuck in working from a formulaic knowledge based framework, but this "inside out" observational method was very helpful. I'm going to incorporate more of this style of approach in my study. After looking at this for a bit I feel like I can push the values further, looking forward to tackling this again.

My attempt following along with Stan's demo. I drew the whole thing at the wrong angle. I rotated it in CSP (I couldn't work out how to do the mask in CSP, so it's a bit dark, sorry,) and most of the drawing did line up. The nose, mouth, and shoulder were still off, though. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it as this is not the kind of thing I usually have a go at :) Much more practice needed!!

I used some disney characters for the different proportions task. Reconstructing the twisted pose of N°18 from a different angle made my head hurt.
It reminded me of the "double vision" assignments that Walt Stanchfield gave to his students, where he made them draw from life reference but draw the pose as some cartoon character. It is hard but a lot of fun.

Pose 18. Started with a 10 min study of the pose, got up a few times to strike the pose myself which really helped when drawing it from memory. The memory manikin got a little wonky, but the exaggeration made it feel like he saw something shiny on the ground that caught his attention.

2024/7/8. Good morning everybody. This illustration it's a master study from a painting of a great illustrator, one of my favorite: Scott M. Fischer. In particular I like his fantasy characters and his angelic creatures. As you can see from the photo of the original (right) that his touch is extremely powerful and rough and this gives greater expressiveness of the character's strength. I, however, opted for a more regular and fluid touch, especially in the drapery and details of the armor. I had a great time. I used acrylic colors on 300 g Fabriano watercolor paper 45.5 cm x 30.5. Thanks to everyone and have a good day.
Nice study, Marco! I know it's not the focal point, but I love the way you've painted the clouds!
