I tend to be very messy when drawing and i definitely have a problem with lineart, when comparing the stuff on my sketchbook with other people it just feels like the way i draw and practice is so wrong and there is something wrong with me, i'm hoping maybe someone has good advice.

Hey, @not_a_name! I second the comments made by @Steve Lenze and @Christopher Beaven - you have some great stuff going on, just go ahead and take some time to deliberately practice your linework, which is what you already know you can improve on.
Have you tried doing more iterations on top of your sketches? Often, it just takes time and work for the drawing to develop. If you’re drawing digitally, you could try using various layers in your software or app to redraw until the construction and line quality feel good enough. You might also like to try linework aiding tools such as Lazy Nezumi (on Windows) or HejStylus (on Mac). Some softwares and apps like Photoshop and Fresco also have built-in smoothing funcions for brushes - it really helps stabilize the lines and allow us to make cleaner strokes.
But keep in mind messy lines are not a problem at all if your in the beginning stages or if the drawing isn’t meant to be more than just a loose doodle.
Hope this helps!
Great thumbnails for animation or idee for a subject. Try to work wit white ,gray ,black to gif a nice 3d effect.Line work do not matter if your are not working on a subject that is a final drawing! and you whant to learn it try to draw your favorite subject ,take a break and analyse it. don't forget reference materials, pensel
Go to you tube look up :The Art of Aaron Blaise
I would suggest drawing light handed first and then refine your lines over those and that would get you a cleaner line art draw rough light and then draw over them
@Steve Lenze has a wonderful example and I agree that improving your line work would be the one thing that would improve your art the most. I just want to say that there is nothing wrong with you at all. You're going through exactly what every artist out there goes through. This art game is hard and you have to make a ton of bad work to learn.
What you really have is tenacity! Great job on doing a ton of sketches. The more you draw the faster you will improve. If you draw constantly and always look at your work with a critical eye and where you can improve you will get better tremendously fast.
You're doing everything right! Just keep working at it!
I think your stuff is nice. All your drawings have a nice 3D quality about them, and your mech and robot stuff is cool. I think your self critique about your line quality is correct, you definitely need to work on that. I threw some quick lines on one of your drawings, and I think it is all there in your drawing, it's just hard to see because of the line. Keep up what your doing, I think it's good :)
I like the forms of the 6th cat on page 3.
My advice if any would be to treat it like a life drawing course.
Pick a subject do some fast sketches to get an idea of the flow and action. Then some longer ones to get in some form. Stick with the same subject matter. Different angles and poses should help you get an idea of the volume and movement.
Ok, I'll do my best. Looking at all your drawings it isn't obvious to me that your starting with blocky shapes in what your drawing before you start putting in detail. I can see in some drawings your starting with basic shapes and then working inside of them but that's not quite the same thing as working inside 3 dimensional shapes. Phil Dimitriadis has put a lot of videos up on youtube it would help you to look at. Also I would recommend you consider getting Marshalls 1894 perspective drawing class video's from his website(best purchase I ever made) that will help you start thinking in 3D when your drawing.
Keep at it your drawings already look really good.
I’m not an expert but it doesn’t look like there’s anything wrong with those. The style is different from what I usually see on the internet but it looks really cute.
you could try erasing stay marks to make the lines look a little cleaner, but don’t lose the variation in line weight that you have.
you can also try studying art you like, that’s always useful.
I wouldn’t worry about it so much though (easier said then done ofc lol). Just focus on your fundamentals (which are already pretty good) and you’ll be fine.
