More than on this drawing itself, I would advise against using the grid method, because it does not help you at all to understand what you are drawing, leading you to simply copy what you see.
The drawing you posted is a good copy of the photo, certainly, but what have you understood about the way a hand is structured and positioned in space?
Before you worry about accuracy of measurement, worry about gesture and construction, so that you can get more dynamic images, learn the structure of the hand and be able, if necessary, to exaggerate or vary the pose.
The purpose of the grid is to allow you to reproduce as faithfully as possible or to enlarge an image that you intend to copy, I did this for years at school (I used it a lot in fresco), but it's not really useful for learning to draw, it's just a tool like a light table, a sheet of acetate or the dusting for a fresco can be.

Sure, it allows you to make final images that appear satisfactory, but in your learning process it actually hinders you.
It was used a lot before the new technologies because, for example, there was no alternative method, I don't know, to put a very small image on a larger surface, it is something that is useful to know but only worth using in certain cases (and today we have better and more precise alternatives).

I really appreciate your suggestion. Indeed, I draw the shape quicker with the grid system. However,it doesn't help me understand the structure of a hand. I will redraw this drawing without using the grid. Also, I will try to make shape more dynamic. Thank u Serena :D

Nice approach. I like the way you showed structure and perspective to the hand especially the knuckles and fingers fat pads while avoiding symetry. However in my opinion you forgot that tedons on doso side of the palmar fat pads at the bottom of the fingers start right in the middle of the first metacarpals which should have been used to show tension from index finger. Also they can not allow the finger to split that much.
I do forget to draw tendons. You also remind me that I need to make the shape more dynamic. Thank u for your advice.

I like your shading a lot and use of line looks beautiful. Try drawing it free hand and use comparative measuring and geometric forms to build on. Great drawing!
Hey. First off this is great. The shading is really beautifully done. I agree with Renaldi Bemba about there being room to push the values further but that's definitely a matter of choice and style. For useful critique I would say the gesture is perhaps a little stiff and I think the grid system is partly to blame there. While it's great for getting an accurate representation I think there's a trade off in interpretation. I think this is particularly evident in the thumb. Without the grid system you are forced to make decisions that ultimately lead to your own artistic expression coming through. That being said, this is still a really wonderful piece. Thanks for sharing
Hello :) , I think you can go darker in your shadow , to make the form pop up . So you can work your half tones some more sorry for my english I am french ...
There is nothing to critique, i guess. It looks very nice. Perhaps you should repeat this technique a few more times to memorize it. After that, you could try to draw something without the grid. Have fun.
