Asked for help
For the assignment I used 4 types of lighting and I tried to use some of the ideas from the previous lessons on color:
1. Warm monochromatic with sunset light from the right. I used 2 references for this one:
Reference 1: Blade Runner 2049 (2017), the very orange / yellow scenes in Vegas.
Reference 2: Gerry (2002), sunset shot, similar colors to the Blade Runner reference.
2A. Cool monochromatic night with soft moonlight from the left.
Reference: Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), the scene with the weird walker things.
2B. Cool monochromatic night w/ NOMAD.
Reference: The Creator (2023), the lighting / color reminded me of the night shot in the movie with the NOMAD laser beam thing, so added it for fun.
2C. Cool monochromatic night w/ fog.
3. Complementary palette with afternoon light from the left.
Reference: Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
4. Double split complementary palette with evening light from the right.
Reference: Brother Bear (2003).
Here's a link to the PSD file in case it will make it easier for the critique: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HGm1aGF6ewKN0SmMn0UbYX8rtjkuRnv2/view?usp=sharing

JMW Turner. I want to create detail in the right places and I think that has got to do with knowing how much info the viewer needs in order to create depth + where to put interest. To everyone who thinks they are too old to be relevant: Turner reached new hights in his final decade and inspires my life 173 years after his death. Art is not love. It is devotion that will reward generations to come. I cant name Turner without at least one cheesy line. I read about him in a book before and laughed non stop in the silent library because people wrote about him as if they would had liked to kiss his bum. Now I am one of those weirdos. Who wants to hear cheese all day can connect with me.
"Make friends who are artists."
Any proko courses on this? :) :(
also it helps if you dont know who you are talking to so conversation flows naturally. i think i just happen to meet people by accident because i step outside and draw attention by being invested in art. it happened more when i lived in the big city less in my small town. but i met some famous artists this way. but we started talking mostly because of their dog or outfit and the view or such. i chat with everyone nice on the street anyway. because old people chatted me up at bus stations all my life
