Week 1 - 10 x 5min + 10 x 1min
I did it all on sketch paper with graphite pencil and increased contrast digitally. 1 min exercise was quite challenging, since i never do 1 mins. Enjoyed 5 min gestures more tbh :)

This was fun! :) I enjoyed both research and drawing part of it.
I created a redrawing of Sandro Del Prete on first page, by analysing it first. On second page i copied some random illusions i've found. I did everything freehand, because it is part of the fun, when drawing traditionally imo. I know rendering is not the point here, but i could not resist the urge :)
I think i started to understand these isometric optical illusions after this exercise. I had never given any thought about this subject before, tbh.
That's rad! Excited to see all these cool examples being pumped out. I foolishly forgot to buy a T-square, so I gotta hit up the store tomorrow before I can do my own experiments. But these were just too cool not to say something.
These are cool examples. It's cooler that you copied them free-hand :) Great job!

I chose drawings/paintings from Marc-Antoine Mathieu, Charles-Louis Clérisseau ( i have to admit, i discovered this name checking other students posts here ) and Joseph Mallord William Turner, even though he is not necessarily known with his mastery in perspective.
Coming to art from photography background, i like crazy distortions you get in ultrawide angle shots @12-18 mm range. Shapes around the corners of the frame get distorted so that they naturally lead the eyes into the frame. I would like to apply this to my drawings, where it makes sense.
I would like to be able to draw anything from any angle and perspective, so that i can translate my imagination into drawings without any technical issues:) I also like using 3d. F.e. blocking out in 3d, then continueing to concept in 2d, and back to 3d and so on. I think even this type of workflow requires a solid understanding of perspective.
Eagerly waiting for lessons to be released, and very happy to be taking this class :)
P.S. : Ive been watching all episodes of draftsmen more than 5 times by now while drawing, and still taking new notes, when watching. Those podcast helps keeping me motivated.

Hi Michael, first of all i am happy taking this course by the artist and teacher i admire. I think some lines are a bit wonky on my assignment. Would be great to hear your quick feedback, if you have the time.
