today I created an oil digital painting, I've used this technique before and I really enjoyed it. I also decided that maybe I'm best at drawing animals.

Today I wanted to practice some digital painting. I've been struggling with my own characters so I decided to go for some fan art of the movie 'turning red' I tried to combine it with my style of painting what you guys think? the proportions are all over the place I know but just wanted to try out some painting. I also went a little crazy and added some extra elements

been trying to do some character development with now of my previous sketched for illustrating children books, I've tried 3 different techniques the first is very plain the second one I tried creating texture with an underneath layer also I used some gouache paintbrushes for this outcome. finally for my last one the bottom one, I used oil painting brushes I tried to keep it very messy and lose. all these drawing had been done on photoshop. I think my colours are coming out quite muddy tho does anyone have any advice?

hey @Elias Lemus I love your playful idea, however as a viewer I feel like there's no enough value and contract with the colours. one suggestion I would say maybe use a pinky colour for the lady's dress, this would help her stand out in the piece. also if you are making this into a digital painting you can add a black and white layer to see if there's enough value and contrast with your colours. hope this helps :) can't wait to see the finish piece. p.s there are some great YouTube videos this is my favourite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkCVrNoqcBU

all 3 task of the first assignment. this was the first every time I've ever tried gesture drawing, I found it a little difficult but it was a great practice. I also found the second part 3D forms quite challenging but after doing the magic carpet they became a little bit easier. for the final task I decided to make a few illustrations of children jumping without using reference, this helped me think outside the box and was a lot of fun to do. for all these task I used photoshop along with a drawing tablet.

Really like the style. Try cropping the bottom of your picture where its just black or painting more so that it fills the empty space at the bottom. In my opinion it will make your portrait more grounded and will get rid of the illusion where your upper torso in floating in the air. The second thing I would recommend is to add some more value to the face. Like you did for the neck and sides of the face. Specially around the nose, eyes and the lips. Your face is the only place which seems flat compare to the rest of painting. What I mean by flat it that it is lacking three dimensional aspect to it. If this is part of your style then please ignore this part. I hope I was of help.

Nice! I like the purple and blue hair as well as the watercolour texture to it.
