Looks great! I like your approach. Many of us did a dark outline around the entire animal but I agree that the eye and horns were the most important and your line work does a great job drawing my eyes to those areas.

I struggled with these a bit more than I expected. I was chasing a certain line quality that I often see in these types of sketches, and I don't think I'm quite able to achieve that just yet. Things did improve gradually, through—especially after completing the Spider Hand several times. And at least now I know I need to play around with line weight to see better results; a single weight seems to make the image flatter and less interesting.

After completing the snail first, and then doing the two-week drawing challenge next, I decided to come back to this lesson and try my hand at the boots. The sets of laces were definitely the most complex things I've tried to draw so far.

Here are my drawings and references for the first ten days of this drawing challenge. I focused on simplifying to CSI for each piece.

Here's my snail. I struggled to make clean C and S curves, but I like how it came out overall. Critiques welcome!

I did two pages of Mario mushrooms a day for nearly a week. They started out really rough, but it's nice to see the improvement as time went on.
