Here are some of my attempts. I tried it with another reference and I struggled with the hair. I don't know how to make it look more "natural".

Tried with a fox
Rachel Dawn Owens
So cute! I love it. Sometimes it can be tempting to give animals human-like cheek bones. When drawing an animal face, looking at the skull can be helpful for reference. I think it looks more foxy if you angle the edges of the jaw like this- Your drawing is perfect for this assignment. I just wanted to point out this little anatomy tip. Good stuff!

Tried a few more using random references The dog was the hardest one. I couldn't find a good way to separate the diffrents parts.

Nice work! I think you did a really good job simplifying down from complex to simpler curves. What could help is incorporating more straight lines as you further simplify, like with the dog, some of the more complex curves could be further broken down using a mix of lines (and some simpler curves). The front limbs and snout are areas that especially could benefit from highlighting their boxier, straighter edges. It's looking pretty good already overall, so keep up the good work!

Hey. Here are my attempts at the snail and the boots
Rachel Dawn Owens
Nice! I like the last snail drawing the more. He feels the most solid.

My attempts at the level 2 portrait. Those shades really gave me a hard time T_T
Rachel Dawn Owens
I like how you abstracted the shapes to make them simpler! The last drawing is my favorite. It’s got the best quality of shading.
@irys
The last pear. I tried to draw another fruit that i found online. I did it with Procreat using the default pencil "Peppermint" and "HB pencil". The shadows gave me a lot of trouble ;_;.

Hey @irys I hope this demo helps. It may help to squint your eyes a bit to bring the fruit out of focus. The simple value shapes become a bit more clear that way. When I look at the pomegranate this way, I see the darkest values taking up a good half of the fruit. Laying in those shapes lightly before shading can help. As for the shading on procreate, you may want to try making "strokes" instead of turning the pencil on its side and shading that way. I think you'll get something more similar to traditional pencil on paper that way.

Is it just me, or do they seem scared ^^? I put some eyebrows on some of them and it's funny how that small detail changes their expression. Very fun exercice
Melanie Scearce
The eyebrows are great 😂
