I'm still on the beginner side and this is probably the longest I have worked on something XD Definitely worked my creative muscles a lot, I feel I improved a lot too and it was A LOT of fun ! Like I said on my first feedback post, it's a drama movie based on artist's life. I'm a musician and teacher first and digital artist second. Hope you guys like it! And will sure try to participate on others challenges as well! Cheers (:

Hello! I'm back again with some more refined works? So I went ahead and expanded on the idea of my head cut in half with stuff coming out of it. Made a few iterations... I took a photo of my face and used it as reference, a very serious face! So i could capture the... DRAMMA. Lol. Anyway, I also went a little bit more personal with one of the iterations. These are still kinda rough so don't mind if they don't look perfect. I also juggled with the idea of making a comedy movie poster or something like that, but couldn't really nail something so I continued to with my original idea. Would love to hear from anyone some feedback :D

Interesting. I like the piano night head piece the most so far.

Right that's the best I'll come up withXD Secret agent type of an action comedy. The agent has to learn to play a trumpet, as a part of his disguise, in 3 days. Might add some explosions n jumping cars idk :D What do you think?

Love the concept ! I would go and pay to see this in the theaters XD

Hi everyone, I made some sketches for my poster and some color studies. I would like to hear witch one of the color studies you think is better fitting. Her a bit of context: So, my father and I love the Dolar trilogy movies with Clint Eastwood. So I decided to make a western theme poster. Now, the important part of my life is that I had to move a lot and adapt to different environments, from the US to different city’s in Mexico, that is why I put a train in the poster.

I liked the left colour study! It gives great western vibes!

Let's see what the community wants. We were planning on keeping this category clean with only official challenges, but if there is enough interest in allowing user created challenges, I'm ok with it. I can just pin the official ones to the top. Let's VOTE.. Reply to this comment with your thought!

Like many have said it doesn't sound like a bad idea. But maybe with some level of moderation so it doesn't become absolute chaos.

Alright! So here I have 3 sketches. Since it's a movie poster that reflects or it's based on my life, my idea is of a drama movie based on an artist's life (yeah, like we don't have enough of those lol). I'm a musican, I write poetry from time to time and obviously (since I'm on this website after all), I'm also a drawer/painter. So, what I did first was take a quick look on how drama movie posters look. What colours they use or elements and stuff like that. And went with these very quick sketches with just an added colour for the background. I noticed that they use very muted light colours, grey scale tones, a lot of faces/portraiture. Of course, I could just make a portrait but honestly I don't think that would portray "the drama life of an artist" So, the first bluish sketch, has the protagonist "thinking" about art, a woman and a city. Some elements that I feel they kinda portray the idea of the movie? I dunno. The next sketch was my first one. Just slapped ideas around: someone on their knees kinda like screaming, someone painting, a book, a piano, etc. but I feel there are too many elements and they don't explain exactly? I dunno. And the last sketch, was done after feedback from a family member, put the artist shouting in the middle surrounded by his artistic struggles. The sketches are very rough but I don't want to commit myself to add more depth or paint after I'm hooked with what I want to proceed. Anyways, any ideas, thoughts? :D

Concept-wise I really like what you have going on in the first image with the skyline in your head. Definitely a detective-story vibe, that when combined with your love and study of various art forms is an awesome. The one your family member suggested is also very powerful and the fact that it comes from someone who I will assume knows you best can also become a very powerful story image as well. I think the questions is do you feel like you search for meaning in the arts (thus the detective style one) or who struggles with your passions (the one of you shouting in the middle)? Hope this helps.

You got some nice ideas! My favorite is the blue one, it has a very lovely melancholy feel to it, with that shade of blue and the head tilted like that, it says a lot about the feeling of the movie in just a simple down turned silhouette! I thinks it’s very visually effective! I like the way we are able to see what is on his mind with the images within the head, but to me, the straight line of the bottom of the cityscape feels to sharp, maybe you could soften it a bit by letting the building fade out a bit at the bottom or letting the painter and the woman be a little lower then the buildings, to get a kind of overlapping effect. But that is just my personal opinion and the way it is now looks strong to. It all depends on your personal style and artistic vision! :-) It was nice to see your process, I think you are on to a great start!

I do like the idea on the first one where the skyline cuts into the head. something like the stuff from the intro to true detective:)

Hi! I wonder if someone could help me clarify something for me please, I’m a little confused about this part of the rules: “"Remember to leave some room for the text! Logo and title optional, unless you wanna also do the graphic designers job 😊 Let's see those posters!”" On many posters, the title and all the text goes over the image in contrasting or different colors, like it does in the example “Proko Challenge, Movie Poster your life” by Karla Ortiz on the rules page. Are we allowed to do this or should we leave something similar to a white box for text, or just leave an area less “cluttered” that we can imagine the text would be put in? This seems like it will be such a fun and exiting challenge, I hope I will be able to finish it in time and I look forward to seeing everyone posters!

I guess it's to not make the poster look super cluttered, so another person could just add text to it. Kinda like what you would be asked to do on a real commercial work. Or at least that's how I understood it (:

I already started working on it! I'm still a novice but I feel that I rarely flex my creativity muscles and I think this is a great place to start! Had 2 ideas, and now I'm working on one to see how far can I take that one. I'll be sure to post my advancements so I can get some feedback :D

I totally understand you! I have a similar situation. I have a lot of ideas of what I want to paint, but don’t get around to actually doing it, because I tend to feel that I have to get better first. So this is a great prompt to help me through that threshold. I also think being part of the supportive community here will help me go from mere idea to actual art on paper! I hope it will be that way for you to! Good luck to you! I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!

Hi everyone :) my name is Harmony and I draw and paint digitally, mostly animals, birds and nature. I live on the east coast of Australia with my husband Pete and our dog, cat, and six chickens. I’ve been looking for a good art community to join for ages so I’m glad to be here! I will do my best to help others and am always grateful for constructive critique of my own work. I adore speedpainting and my goal over the next decade is to be able to draw and paint anything that interests me to a high quality within 2-3 hours. I’ve attached a few of my recent paintings, I tend to love bright happy colours and whimsical subjects. Impressionism and post Impressionism are my favourite art styles and Van Goph is my very favourite artist.

I LOVE the acrylic texture of your landscape painting! What brushes did you use? :O
