The lessons on squinting are very valuable and thorough. I've never heard it explained so thoroughly. Thanks so much. These are my attempts at squinting.

This look nice. The first image looks the most balanced. Using the hat to frame the face a bit is a good idea.

Hi Morgan. I'd love a critique on this recent portrait I just did of a friends daughter. Thanks so much.
Morgan Weistling
I would never have used this photo. hope you watch the lesson on this. But you did great with what you had to work with. Not good light at all.
@fepampeyan
I really enjoyed this assignment. Your demo was great. What a wonderful triibute to your friend, Pete. I haven't worked with pastels very much, so this was good for me.

I like the limited pallet you gave this. The gray set off the flesh tones quite nicely. Drawing could be a little bit more accurate but overall, I like it.

Here's my sketch and painting. I think I need sharper charcoal sticks. I really enjoyed painting this darling little girl., It's not as easy as you make it seem. But I hope to do more children.

Nothing is as easy as it first seems, but I think you did really well. The only thing that’s missing is a little more attention to correct drawing and there’s nothing major standing out. It’s just a lot of little accuracy problems but when there’s enough of them, they add up. But you are very close here and hope you feel good about what you’ve done so far.

I really enjoyed this portrait and learned a lot. I'm looking in the mirror backwards more to get better accuracy. Critique appreciated. I enjoy your jokes too.

This is my final painting. There is some glare on the photo. Critique appreciated. I love your instruction and these classes. Thanks so much.

Overall, I think this has some really nice qualities. Your drawing went off in the area of the shapes that make up the eyes sockets. They got too large and too wide, and then it caused his likeness to go off, but there are other areas where you got it Much more accurately. Take the photo and your painting and put them side-by-side and with rapid eye movement back-and-forth just look at the eye area and compare between them and see if you can see where you went off. Learning how to see incorrect is the most important thing You can get out of this but overall you did a great job.
