Still practicing my overhand grip. If I do this lesson again, I’m going to use a narrower pencil.

Hello all. Had a lot of fun with this one. I decided to use burrowing owls as my subject, because they always seemed so sassy with their looks. When I looked at the pictures, they often looked like they were telling some juicy gossip to one another, or a joke, giving some stink eye!

My assignments. I think I’m being too precious with the contours still. Also, I mysteriously shrunk the middle two fingers on that hand!

Going to try and complete this challenge. This is my Day 1. Still trying to get the hang of using my arm+shoulder with an overhand grip for big line work.

Before watching the demo, and then drawing along to the demo. My second snail got smudgy from the opposite page and I didn’t take a picture before that happened, but I liked how it turned out.

Attempting without watching the demo. The boot on the left is definitely pancaked, but I think the shape of the one on the right is a little closer. Will try to follow along to the demo this weekend.

Here are my mushrooms. This was a fun exercise. I’ve never been good at, or often tried, to ghost in ellipses. Trying to use my arm and shoulder more with creating lines, as well. This is a good one to get everything moving!

The one on the left is my pear before the demo and the one on the right is me following along with the demo.
