Well, here is my second try for the snail after watching the demo. Will try the boots next, haven't watched that part yet.
@debaka
Well, here is my first attempt at the snail. As you can see from the smearing and result, the "house" of the snail gave me a lot of trouble - I wasn't sure how to represent the underside of it with lines.
Patrick Bosworth
Nice job! I think you represented the underside of the snail body very well using S curves! You captured the flow of what the snail is doing very nicely. For the snail shell or "house" (I love thinking of it that way!) it looks like it's placed a little too low on the body. You can see your shell almost touching the underside of the snail body. Simplify it to a single shape first so you can more easily judge the placement on top of the snail's body. Then break it down to the smaller shapes. It looks like you started with the largest part of the shell first, and then added the three smaller sections. Try drawing an envelope around the whole thing to represent it as a large shape first. Hope this helps! Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I think this is going to be a daily thing for me to do for a while :D I really struggle to get a consistent shape for anything larger than a few centimeters. Simultaneously easing up on the pressure makes it even harder for me. Time to practice :P
@jovahdraws
They look a lot better than mine I can tell you that!. I really liked this warm-up.
@debaka
Well, here is my third and final pear (for now) after watching the demo. Getting a consistent shading seems to be a problem for me but I think that's something that will improve with more practice.
@debaka
So, this is my first try. As you can see, more of a "starting from zero" person here :P I already see so many things to improve...
