I'm listening to this late in 2023. It's fun and interesting how many of these topics have aged. I can't hear Stan mention the Metaverse and not think of what a failure that was for Zuckerberg.

I'm amazed how Marshall scrutinized this technology so well, without needing to understanding how it works, asking pretty much exactly the right questions, not letting any unknowns distract him from the importance of how this will fit in the broader context of human interactions. And than Stan and Marshall formulate the possibly most productive questions for both sides of the argument, which, if taken seriously, would not only depolarize the discussion, but would also help extract the most technological value.

Great episode and finally I have a much better understanding of block chains and NFT's. One of the issues I ran into with digital art was that commissions just weren't viable and it was much easier for me to interest people if traditionally drawn commissions. If NFT's can solve that issue that sounds great. That said, I think the environmental concerns really outweigh the good at this point for me. I hope that issue can be resolved in block chains, but I fear in the rush to make money people of this world routinely abandon any sense of common good. Thanks for the very informative episode though, since the whole NFT thing has been a bit confusing to me.

Most comprehensive and well understood presentation of NFT's I've heard on the web. Seems like Stan's done his homework.
