Here is my attempt at the mushroom warmup. Pretty fun little warmup. Had trouble trying to get the pressure right since it seems that I tend to put pressure more towards the bottom of the ellipse than the top half, especially going one go. Also had trouble with the cap ellipse and trying to connect it to the first ellipse.

Here are my images: my picture of the pear I used and pre pear and post pear from this demo. Definitely looks weird but i think i see improvement. Comments are more than welcome please!! Was thinking I could try using Prokos pear if I should try this project again or if I should move on? Thoughts? Thanks alot

Here is a quick mockup I did in procreate to further illustrate my advice. Hope it helps!

Here is my before and after from the demo, it seems that I really struggle with trying to get the cast shadows right and I overcomplicate the shape by adding to many subtle changes

Looks like we had the same issue on our first attempt using curves instead of lines. Your 2nd attempt is much better!!

Hello everyone Ive drawn all 3 pears from the reference section. One thing that I think that I struggled most with is getting the shadows right especially when it came down to differentiating the shape of the dark and darkest zone. Also on the other 2 (1st and 2nd reference) I think I might of gone too dark with the shading for the darkest area and not dark enough in the dark area. If I remember correctly for the first one (3rd pear reference) I used and HB,2B,B, and F, for the last two I used HB,B,2H, and 4H. I also think that my mind might think of the first one as better as the last 2 where done on sketch paper which seems to have a slight tone to it compared to the white printer paper.

I really like how you shaded the 3rd pear. The radial direction of the lines is really cool. The 2nd pear could be clarified more, but that’s all I notice. Good stuff 👍
