added comment inPainting in Color Using Blending Modes
Asked for help
I went with another subject, inspired by the artist Mengzi. I wonder how you get rid of the drawing lines with the blending modes? Do you turn off the layer at one point or do you create a new layer to redo the edges? Thank you :)

In this technique, the sketch lines are reduced in opacity and are eventually painted over or incorporated into the final image. I took these screenshots from the photoshop document to show how little the sketch lines are visible right before the direct paint layer is applied. There's very little difference in visibility at this point, and the direct paint layer polishes up any other visible lines.
This is a cool character! I like how you executed the rim lighting.

Very interesting exercise! Going back to simpler shapes helped me visualize how the light interacts with the objects

I followed the directions closely, and it helped me understand the process. I struggle with using the model only as information and not sticking to it. I'll try again with another subject :)

My submission for the two versions of the models. The second one was harder without a unique reference so I went for a darker less detailed scene. The layers started to get messy with the second version

A lot of different elements in this picture! Using the different brushes to give textures was challenging. I'm not completely happy with the face

Lovely work! This depends more on the style you want to go for, but for something more painterly, I would recommend lowering the opacity for the linework and using the values you already laid down to describe the form instead. Especially with the silhouette outline, the contrast between the dark background and lighter skin tones alone will allow the form to read on its own, and pushing the background to be a bit darker can help make it even clearer. Using shadows to define edges can also be of great help. It's already looking very good, so this depends on the final style you want to achieve -- keep up the great work :)

Second assignement. I really enjoyed the exercise with a more traditional approach. As advised I tried to stylize and get rid of excessive details. I'm not sure about the light values i chose...

My take on the first assignement. I would love some feedbacks. I feel like the values on the faces don't attract the eye enough, maybe it needs more contrast?
