Glad I watched the encouragement video from Stan as the imagination requirement was challenging! Was happy with how I progressed during my practice sketches to final drawing. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

A couple friends and I get together and draw a few times a week--mainly in the early morning. A lot of the time we do figure drawing, or portrait drawing, but since all of us are in this course, we sometimes do the lessons together. This morning we did a warthog Viking. This course is introducing me to a lot of things I somehow missed, however drawing from imagination is in my wheelhouse. If this is something anyone here is interested in, we're going to be working on the skill this Sunday, Oct 20th at 7PM eastern time. Send me a direct message if you're interested in joining us and I'll send you the Zoom link.

Incredible!

Something is off , length of the forearm and 2 inner fingers?? Can’t quite tell
Sarah McKiernan
ok so I need to seriously work on simplification (no teeth, hair etc)and line work (wasn’t sharp enough) and following instructions ! but was happy that I somehow managed some of the foreshortening… and you can tell it’s a camel! Any other feedback greatly appreciated

It looks like you’re off to a great start! This is a well proportioned drawing and the perspective looks nice. Remember that ‘every line is a thought’. Slow down and draw long, simple lines for this assignment. It will help you as you get into more advanced stuff later. Drawing with simple C,S, and I lines will become more intuitive with practice. Keep it up! I like your green camel!

Such a hard project! Not sure I did the right thing using tonal paper (was just itching to use it!) Aware that not all lines have sharp edges and that probably used too many tones but still keen on any constructive feedback.
Rachel Dawn Owens
I think you handled the tonal paper nicely. Keep using it if you like it.

Sticking to straight lines and 5 values was hard ! Any feedback would be gratefully welcomed. Thank you
Melanie Scearce
You did a wonderful job with the value range! Definitely harder than it looks, so kudos to you. The shape design gives the pear a bit of a rocky appearance, and I think it's partly because of the straight line requirement, but I think it could be minimized by simplifying further (use straight lines in the "rocky" areas) and following the form of the pear with the shapes. I did a quick draw over to show a technique that I like to use -- the wireframe. Thinking about the object like a low-poly 3D model with a wireframe helps me to simplify and design my shapes while following the contours. Hope this helps :)
