ok so I need to seriously work on simplification (no teeth, hair etc)and line work (wasn’t sharp enough) and following instructions ! but was happy that I somehow managed some of the foreshortening… and you can tell it’s a camel! Any other feedback greatly appreciated
@humphreybogart
I think this is really well done!
@humphreybogart
First time I have been thoughtful about how sharp my pencil tip was and how clean each of my lines should be. A helpful lesson! Side note: I skipped the laces after imagining Proko saying he would do that to simplify. oops!
@ewan11
Felt challenged by the shoes at the 2nd try, having this frustration made me realize that its okay to feel those emotions and continue moving forward. I never realized how sketchy my lines were on the 1st attempt!
@humphreybogart
The sketchy line awareness was my biggest aha from this lesson, too! Great job.

Top left was a first attempt on a gourd I had on the counter. Bottom is from observation of Stan’s image. Learned about the heavy grain issue in the critique video and keeping a sharp point to avoid that.

Drawing from life is a great idea. You will learn a lot from that.

Your pear drawing is really good! I can see the improvement already from your first drawing of the gourd. Keep up the good work!

Sketchbooks
Stan never told us what sketchbook he uses. He shared that he likes a spiral bindings, and a thick cover and shows us these but nowhere in the tools list does he actually say where to get these or what they’re called. What the heck!
