This assignment was really fun! It was great exercise for my mind, specially because it made me realize how many things I still don't understand. "The more you know, the more you realize you don’t know."
I had to draw the coins outside of the frame to roughly estimate how much of the surface of the pancakes can be seen. It was also really difficult to know how distant the pancakes are from eachother. I can see some mistakes, but many mistakes are still hidden for my eyes.
But for a first time drawing something like this, it think it's great. Grand Canyon, fear me! I will draw you, too.

Dear Marshall!
I am taking your perspective course, and I am excited to see your artworks, too.
Thank you for making this video, I learned a lot. It was also an interesting history lesson. :)

Wow! I guess I never realized how my art works... I just did it. As a kid, I always drew from imagination or by watching anime and trying to replicate the characters without stopping the show. I was very creative as a kid I must say. And fearless. But then as I grew older, things have changed. I can't even remember when was the last time I drew without a reference photo, because I like to be precise. Thank you for showing all these spontaneous artworks, I love them all! They inspire me to draw whatever comes to my mind. I will keep a mini sketchbook around so I can draw whenever the inspiration fairy visits me.

I really like that he mentioned the freedom of an artist: you can choose aesthetic over technical truth.
me too, its very refreshing to hear, especially if you've been fixating on the technical stuff!

Hi guys! Nice to be here :)
My name is Maja, and I am a self-taught artist who has always regretted not going to art school but pursuing another career. It came out of nowhere but I decided to learn perspective! Because it's fascinating and seems like a riddle that I want to solve. And I am also dreaming about creating my own comic one day, and I don't want it to be just a dream.
1. Masters:
(1-2) Stefan Große Halbuer (plastic.pen)
(3) Sachin Teng
(4-6) Katsuhiro Otomo (author of AKIRA)
(7) Kim Jung Gi
(8-9) Moebius
2. Big picture goal:
(1) Really want to learn how to draw things from different angles. People, food, vehicles, animals, and whatever my heart desires.
(2) I never ever draw background! But why not? I really would like to learn how to draw imposing buildings, breathtaking sites and creative indoor spaces. (And also I am a sucker for bird's eye view!)
I am excited about your course! Let me learn a lot. :)
